Question..

I recently acquired some pipe threading stuff and have questions.

1 Are conduit threads NPT?
2 where can I find a threading head for these smaller 2-1/8"dies?
3 I forgot question 3

reason is,
I probably have a use for the smaller Armstrong dies.. 1/8 1/4 3/8 1/2 ... but the threading head don't fit.... it only fits the larger conduit dies...

probably put that conduit stuff up for sale soon...

heads up

Rigid conduit uses NPT threads, and is the same dimension as schedule 40 pipe.

There is a smaller handle assembly that fits your 2-1/8 dies. They show up on Ebay regularly. Toledo and Armstrong are interchangable.

Looks like they go by different numbers such as 10 11 12 etc

Do you know which number head fits the smaller dies?

Per a google search most electrical threads are same pitch and size as pipe threads but are straight (no taper) The one exception is that one reference said that rigid conduit threads are tapered. Another reference says the pipe threads are tapered and the fitting threads are straight.

My Toledo handle is a number 11. It has a bore slightly larger than 2-1/2", and I have dies for it that go down to 1/8" NPT. I suspect that the number 10 handle is for the smaller dies, but don't have any proof of that.

Rigid conduit was/is used a lot in exterior/exposed locations, and the tapered threads help keep water and explosive gases away from the wiring. I know for a fact that the couplings are tapered threads, as are water-tight fittings.
