I have come to despise my old lever action grease gun, I have the little pistol grip and would like to get a full size one since the little one goes through cartridges so quickly.

What is the best bang for the buck in pistol grip grease guns?

Go electric and you will never look back. Used to think pistol grip was great, then used a Lincoln 18v - it had issues but was so much easier. Then I bought a DeWalt to go along with the 20v line I have. Only ever grab the pistol grip in the shop when it is just 1 or 2 grease fittings and I don't want to unlock my service truck to get the big gun.

Lincoln 1133

Absolutely the Lincoln gun, best of brand .......

I prefer the 1134 ......................

The reasons why.
Comes with a tube type filler and whip hose

Whip disadvantage:
PIA to get on and off the zerk fittings. Some may think it has more range of angles because it is a whip type, filler hose.

tube filler: adapter, made by Lincoln best price:Ebay

Advantage:
Swivels 360* : Locks in position : once the angle is set, holding the housing of the grease gun: not some greasy, slippery whip: push on and pull off the zerk fitting.

The Lincoln doesn't leak, ooze grease, just a quality product .

I had done a little research on this topic as I needed a couple of grease guns to service a new machine purchase.

I decided on the Alemite 555E. About 2 weeks ago I purchased one off eBay at the best price I could find on-line.

A couple of days later this eBay item showed up and I purchased it.

CarQuest 30298

This one arrived yesterday. It appears to be the exact same Alemite grease gun except it has a flexible hose as well as the metal solid tube item in the box.

I think Advance Auto Parts has purchased CarQuest. Perhaps Advance is getting rid of CarQuest items to clean up the combined inventory.

Anyway, this eBay seller beats any other price I've seen by $10-$12 even after a $10 shipping charge. If you live in Boise ID you can save the $10 and really get a deal. Ha!

Best regards,

Scott

The Lucas Oil ones at Home Depot are really nice and lifetime warranty I have both big and small and price is 25 for big 15 for small the big one had a grip on the tube to help removal.

I really like my Lincoln 1134’s. I actually have 3 and have been happy with all of them. One in the service truck. One in the shop on my cart, the third hangs on my main box with a longer hose to reach places better.

I do have to say that since I bought a DeWalt I’ll go for it every time. Unless it’s just 5 or 6 quick easy take fittings. But the DeWalt gets the job done. Used to have a Lincoln 14.4. It doesn’t compare to the DeWalt.

I'M with cliftonbros on this one i have 2 Lincoln's, a lucas from HD that i also like/use but my new go to is my M18 2 speed Milwaukee. One Lincoln on the service truck with the Milwaukee the other Lincoln on my cart. I also have a Lincoln pneumatic with a long whip which is also real handy in the shop.
