Pits in concrete after prep

I used the diamabrush on my beautiful 3 month old concrete garage floor in order to prep for the Armor epoxy. After sanding, I was dismayed to find a lot of small pits that were not showing through the surface before. These were typically the size of bb's ir or smaller so I spent a couple of hours filling the ones that I could find with Rustoleum epoxy patch. After putting down the primer, I can see that I missed a lot more than I filled. My thinking is that I need to spend another day filling these little pits and let the epoxy patch cure overnight before I put down the base epoxy.

Does anyone know if this is necessary or if the base coat will fill and level these small pits?

One way to attempt to correct this is after priming mix up a small amount of the 100% solids epoxy and apply to the floor in those areas with a flat squeegee tight against the floor. The epoxy will fill in the low spots and cure and not shrink and harden. Wait overnight.

Then mix up the epoxy, and apply flecks per normal procedure. Make sure if you use too much epoxy above to get more so you don't run out of the main coating. If this happens you will need to send it lightly as you will be out of the 48 hr recoat window.

Applying the epoxy as a single step will help to correct it, but most likely won't fix it 100% unless you take the extra step. If doing a single step try to squeegee mostly as rolling pulls epoxy out of low spots.

Thanks for the response. This is better than my idea of using the dark gray patching epoxy since my color coat will be beige. I was worried that the gray might show through.

So does the 48 hour window apply to topping the armorpoxy II primer as well as to topping the base coat? I did not see this mentioned in the instructions.

Yes we don't recommend more than 48 hrs between coats without light sanding and wiping down with denatured alcohol.

By the way if you used gray patch under beige you most likely would see it. Dark and light colors are not friends!
