I kept cringing waiting for something to snap and you go flying. When you said at the beginning that something broke I was afraid it was a part of you!

I would just like to say thank you for testing the ratchet out and sharing. Lots of us were curious about this ratchet I am sure, but you actually took the time and spend the $ to put it to the test. May have to pick one of these up

If you noticed I got the mask half way through because things were getting pretty serious lol. I wish I had an angle from up top so you could see the bend in the shank it was impressive. I honestly througt the "y" where the head attaches into the shank was going to explode lol.
Anyway thanks for the comments guys I appreciate it. If there is anything else you can think of to test let me know :)

I had a two foot cheater on my HF 1/2 breaker this past weekend. I chickened out when the flex hit about 6 inches. That just freaks me out. Time to get a 3/4 breaker, I guess.

I have a snap on 3/8 not 1/2. I'll see what I can do about getting a 1/2 snap on to do this with

Many years ago I broke 3 Snap On 1/2" breaker bars trying to remove T-trailer lug nuts - broke right through the hinge. (Yeah, 4' pipe). First two were the long handle ones, truck didn't have a third, so gave me a standard. Broke that one too. Now - in desperation, bought a Craftsman and finished the job! True story. Still have the Craftsman.

You must be going to the HF down in W. Springfield? Or maybe that's in Springfield proper, I don't know.

No one would put that much torque on a 1/2 inch drive in real life situations... one would switch to a 3/4 inch drive..

Looks strong enough to me! My HF breaker bar has been TOUGH..

What if the snappy shatters in record time! :shocking:

It is time to line the exotic sports car (Snap-on), against the primer Nova with nothing fancy, but a big friggin' engine (Harbor Freight), and race!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gentlemen click your ratchets! :lol_hitti

Note to self do not ever let the op in my man cave...:lol_hitti

Very nice video when you bought the ratchet did you think it would fail at the first sign of stress because it was made overseas or did you suspect that it would not fail at all?

Haha that made me laugh

And I thought it would break without the bar to be honest. I did not expect the result at all

I'm impressed! I'm a Snap On Dual 80 guy, but I would find it pretty funny if one failed easier than the HF!

I still won't be buying any of the HF ratchets as I think they are too bulky, but they appear that they will hold up to some serious ****!

Would be interesting to take apart the flex joint after first checking for looseness of the torque and then check for any necking or bending to the screw/axle bolt or partial shear like happens with a flywheel key sometimes when a mower hits a big root
Taiwan or China?

You're lucky to have a store that has all of them in stock. I have 2 stores in my area and between the 2 of them they only have 3 of these ratchets in. At least 1 of the stores had the new 3/8 composite in.

Thanks for sharing and doing the test.

They may not be everybody's cup of tea but, I think they'll get the job done at a great price.

It would be interesting to know the actual numbers involved. I'm guessing 4-600 lbs-ft.

More than that probably, he is at least.... 250 ish, and probably pretty strong by the looks of it. The bar is 2.5 to 3 feet long? To generate 600 ft. lb. he would only have to be exerting 200 pounds to the bar... At least 900 to 1200 ish..

The ratchet was plenty strong enough! lol.... Good show!

The bar looks 4'-5' actually, watch when he stands it up next to him but yeah, way more than 4-600 ft lbs.

Impressive to say the least.

You guys prefer the long or short?
