Online rumors for the past few months state the new Craftsman USA mechanics tools coming out of the Forth Worth, TX factory will be released Q4 of this year.

We’re officially in Q4. It’s almost November 2022. Where are they???????????

Stanley Black & Decker has worn our patience incredibly thin. **** or get off the pot.

Patience grasshopper.

Besides it’s just another version of craftsman. Not much excitement out of me.

The fact anyone would entertain the crazy idea of starting production in a new plant in the middle of a global meltdown of the supply chain should at least give them some wiggle room before the pitchforks come out.

affordable usa wrench sets would be nice, might be a pipe dream though..
It's unlikely they will make the knockoffs of the Facom 440 series in the U.S. Based on that, who cares? Wrenches are one area where shape and feel matter

Support Wright or Snappy or someone who makes it in the U.S. to suit your needs.

Whatever they are priced at this entire board will ***** because they aren’t the same price as Sears Craftsman from 15-20 years ago. You’ll see hundreds of “Well I’m not buying at THAT price” posts, guarantee it.

Yep I'm sure they'll be more than 20 years ago, but it doesn't mean they can't be affordable. Price them slightly higher than Taiwan and they'd sell them pretty easily. I guess they already shot themselves in the foot since their offshore stuff is already priced pretty high compared to other brands.

Wright is basically nonexistent. You can't go anywhere to feel them that I'm aware of. Snap on is big $$. I'm sure they're great, and I'm looking for affordable. That what craftsman was.. tools for the commoner, made in USA, good warranty, affordable.

Nobody who actually has a legitimate need for a wrench set is going to wait this long. By the time these Craftsman USA tools are out, I would have already picked up all the USA made duplicates I may want off the used market. If you are betting that these tools will come out, your strategy should be to keep a pile of broken made in China Craftsman tools in hopes of one day getting a USA made replacement.

Issue is if you price them slightly higher than Taiwan wrenches, the profit will ****. People in general are more price sensitive than we like to believe of ourselves.

SBD is in this for the money. And price is a result of cost + expected profit margin.

I 100% agree with your assessment of what craftsman was. Whether they can ever regain that is a different story.

I wish them success, but at this point in my life I've got just about everything I could need. Will gen Z care if their tools are made in the USA?

Our patience? I would prefer to wait until they get things just right. There is no need to rush things to market, rushing things usually leads to poor results or bad quality imported tools. Let them take their time, so that they get the equipment calibrated, personnel trained, and the process just right.

Everyone bitching about this will still ***** when they are released. They will complain about the price, and complain that it doesn't match the old Craftsman tools, or that the chrome is the wrong color, or that the wrenches are not more perfecter than anything ever made in the history of humankind.

Me, I'm just glad that at some point, people will have a choice to buy USA-made tools in a big box store again.

People seem to forget that.

“Just buy Snap On” is really the most ignorant response anyone can give to a Craftsman USA post. They’re two totally different animals.

I have a SnapOn truck that shows up to my work every Wednesday and I have not once set foot in it. I’ll go on the MAC truck every once in awhile when they have a deal in the catalog, but not SnapOn. Don’t want it, don’t need, not paying for it.

Guys, Here is the problem. Standard Wall Street practice to to underpromise and overdeliver. SBD and SK do EXACTLY the opposite. They tell us great **** is coming and by the time it does (usually never) we don't care anymore. Shut your mouth until you're ready to deliver and maybe we'll get off of your ***.

I can only go by my own experience with TOPTUL. When TOPTUL told me they were ready to deliver they delivered without fail and the product was top notch. We taught the world how to do things after WWII and now apparently the students have become the masters. We can't do **** anymore and they just get it done. That's the way it is.

I’m good with their Taiwan COO wrenches. They suit my needs just fine and I doubt I’ll ever burn through them at the home. Work sets are all USA or German so I don’t think I’ll be a their demographic for wrenches. Sockets though, I’d be interested for the house. Especially if they have good selection of 1/2 chromes. Not really a fan of the China/Taiwan COO sockets.

Overall I’m excited for the release. I’d wager Craftsman will be available before SK and probably at much better prices and availability.

We can't even barely begin to compete with the world on making computer chips, but we're chomping at the bit to scrutinize our latest offerings for open end wrenches and pliers - whenever that finally happens.

At least we have our priorities straight.

A guess is they are holding back on the fanfare, because for the most part, people have move on a long time ago.

I would think that in order to have some kind of blockbuster Q4 rollout, SBD would want these products in the stores and on the shelves for Black Friday shopping. Time is running out for that.

Oh my gosh op have you not heard the latest news from the tool grapevine...Edward Lampert the all-knowing businessman of the year just bought Stanley Black & decker (SBD) for an undisclosed sum.

He said he wants to churn up the company a little bit and have all the department heads compete against each other to get a better return on their profits. He then promises to make Craftsman a new and improved household name and he is also talking about sending production to Bangladesh. Wow fantastic news!;)(y)(y)

I have been drinking some today...

Ok maybe I am seeing funny dancing spiders, but I swear I just heard on the 6:00 o'clock news that Mr. Lampert was also going to start giving away pet rocks with each new order of Craftsman tools, (kind of like a bogo type of deals).

Now, now there Mr. Lampert is a very smart man, look if you buy a SBD tool with the craftsman's name you will receive a pet rock along with your new tool, why a win- win in my book.:)

I have posted a few times where the SO wrenches are just better than CM, to where a $5.99 wrench that cannot has no value, even if the alternative is $28 now.

dnschmidt had the thread about "you must have a deep offset 17mm for the Hyundai tensioner" thread... But I can get them with a standard SO combo and posted pics.

Sunken hex on a double ended stud? I gotta have my SO combo for that. No socket deep enough. CM and many others lack a box end that will do it.

Every time you hold your ******** tighter than my M-in-L buying candy for Halloween, and declare you'll buy on your terms, come hell or high water, you get less done, and frustrate yourself.

Get a cheap set, and buy the good **** when warranted. It's never been about getting a set of 6-19mm craftsman wrenches for $30 again, and again. It's about getting stuff done. Quit crippling yourself with depression-era thinking, handed to you by parents and grandparents. They lived in a different era, where different opportunities worked. Being part of the Craftsman Zombie team isn't a point of pride.
