Plain white and black tile flooring?

Ihave been looking at the Armstrong industrial vinyl tiles to do a checkerboard floor, but the whites and blacks they have are speckled with other colors. Where can I get white and black tiles that are just black or just white without any other colors sprinkled on, just solid colors?

The solid white and black tiles are available from Armstrong by special order.

I actually had the part numbers for these tiles at one point... Right up until I priced them. If I remember correctly, they were about 4 or 5 times the cost of the "speckled" white and black tile which ran around 49 cents a tile when I made my purchase.

I would also point out that the "speckled" tiles do a better job of masking dirt/stains/imperfections than solid colors do... Especially the solid white.

I agree. When I checked the solid colors were right around $2.00 per tile. Too high for me.

my $.02 - Don't do White VCT tiles, they will turn yellow from your tires and stain badly. I would either choose another darker color or go with the Racedeck's tuffshield tiles or put a larger tray and/or vinyl pad under your car.
Another thing to consider is if you spill any gas or solvent on VCT tiles the glue will melt and react making a big mess.

Thanks for all the feedback, I had no Idea there would be just a premium price for plain tiles. I had thought about the staining, and I agree pure white would be more of a pain. I would still like mroe feedback form others though. As for spilling gas, I never ever have leaking fluids from my cars. If anyone believes that, I have a bridge for sale.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Mannington makes a few lines of VCT that doesn't have specks of other colors in the surface. They are muted versions of the main body color.

I checked out Lowes, and they have them for $0.69 each. I wanna do the checkerboard pattern, but will likely get black (speckled is fine withme) and gray. White is just too much maintenance.
