I have a 30 by 60 blitz pole barn building here in ky......I am thinking about insulating the ceiling....and the walls......My roof trusses are on 8 foot centers and am trying to find something to put on the celing ....When i built my pole barn they said the truesses would be okay for sheet rock....It still looks like a lot of weight so looking at other options.........I am sure as i dig through these fourms i just might see what i am looking for........

Welcome to GJ, plainmd. There are many here with pole barns that can give you some direction on upgrading your shop.

When trusses are designed, they must be desigend to carry the loads imposed in your area, namely snow. There is usually enough of an overage for the snow to accomodate any ceiling material and some attic storage. 1/2" drywall is about 53 pounds, or 1.65 pounds per square foot. You should not have a problem with drywall on the ceiling.
