Plan A garage was to be a 28x36 pole building, metal sides/roof & concrete floor, to be built on the lot at our cabin (future home).
As the excavator began to dig to level the site, he encountered the septic drain field, and could dig no more :(

After discussing the situation with the excavator, my wife, and my buddy, I decided that I would abandon the pole building plan, and instead have a pre-fab dragged in and plopped on site. I settled for a 14x28 one-car, but two-story so I'd still have some storage. I gave up some storage space for aesthetics, deciding on a roof pitch to match the cabin instead of the barn-style roof. Installation began in April, 2012.

Right now it's serving as storage while other renovations are under way.
I did build a railroad tie wall on the downhill side in June of this year, and had the space filled with excavated ground from another project. This will provide secondary parking, and will eventually get a lean-to roof.

Coming soon, 60A sub-panel, then I'll wire the interior.

I primed, then painted the floors with floor paint from Lowes

Plan A was the pole building garage that couldn't be built because of the septic drain field.
:(

This will be OK... not what I wanted, but it will just have to do.
In a year or so I'll put a lean-to roof out over the built-up area I made.

I plan on wiring/lighting, insulation, and wall finishing.
I've been reading many threads here, getting ideas... :)

Reviving my old thread with some updates.

Since I got my garage, I've got 60 amp service added, but just one outlet so far. I've temporarily wire a couple lights in.

I added a John Deere tractor. :D

Added stone on the side, and some fill in back. Prepping for the lean-to roof on the side and back, but didn't get around to this yet.

Added a picket fence for the little Beagle :)

Just got some cabinets, in preparation for the permanent move here next Spring. These Craftsman cabinets will suit me just fine. Not premium cabinets, but OK with me.
I know I should have wired/insulated/finished before the cabinets, but when my wife said get the cabinets, who was I to argue?? :D

Where are you located at?

Who built the garage and are you satisfied with the construction. Of it since it's been a couple of years since it was delivered?

The interior steps do take up some room.

This place is in Huntingdon, PA... near Altoona and State College PA. The company who built the garage is Mountain Road Structures in McVeytown, PA. Yes after two years, I'm satisfied with the construction. Maybe a few small things I'd do differently, but I can say my satisfaction rating is still 9 out of 10. I don't mind the steps as there is storage under them. I store my 54" plow and my yard cart under the steps. Still plenty of room for the tractor, cabinets, etc.
