Hello all, I plan to paint my garage today. Its a standard two car with 10 foot ceilings and I plan to paint the whole thing, 4 walls plus cieling. Now to my question, I have access to a heavy duty type airless sprayer that would seem to make quick work of the job but im not sure. Would you guys suggest rolling or spraying ? Thanks in advance for all your help...btw, im painting it a similar color, just a bit darker so multiple coats are not an issue

Using an airless sprayer will take far less time. However you will need to take more and better care in masking areas off you don't want painted. I own an professional airless sprayer and chose to roller four of my garages five garages. Though I borrowed a roller that is fed by my airless sprayer. Saves a lot of time not having to keep dipping the roller in a pan.

But I sprayed the inside of the 30' X 50' pole barn because it has 3” of spray on foam insulation. Having an uneven surface made it impossible to roller.

I just painted my 2 car garage over the last 2 weekends. I rolled the primer on but tried using one of the Wagner paint sprayers to spray the first color. It sucked ********. It was splotchy and rather than thin 5gal of paint, we just finished rolling it. The ceiling ***** *** to roll.

I still need to do my second color so I exchanged the paint sprayer for this heavier duty model:

The line and tip are much bigger than the all-in-one sprayer I first used but just in case, this model does have the auto feed roller.

I plan on painting mine next weekend. I'll probably rent an airless system on Sat. so I can get the extra day for free and return Monday. Priming can be very difficult with a roller over alot of uneven surfaces.

I sprayed my last 3-car garage, and prime and paint was all done within 6 hours, and the coverage was outstanding.
