Are these plane parts? If so, any idea what they may have come off of etc? Many thanks. Everyone here is great and has helped me a lot. Ive come a long way.

If the upper blade is 2" wide its from a 4 or 5, all their planes from the 2 to the 8 and all the variants in the middle had the same style blade, width determined the plane it fits. The lower blade is from a block style plane, with the bottom of the blade being wider I'd guess a form of rabbet block plane.

I've got a 5 gallon bucket of those given to me. most sharpened beyond use. but it is good steel and I use them to make knives, scrapers, etc. before you toss them offer them up to someone who can use them...

The upper part of most plane blades is softer steel which won't make a good knife or scraper.

most, as in before the early teens...anything in the last 100 years is not a laminated blade and works quite well, as my hunting knifes can attest.
