Sounds like a cheesy title for a bad dating website . . . lol

Anyways, my wife and I bought a new place last summer with the intentions of building a shop in the backyard, and we hope to start construction next spring, so it's time to get ideas!

Looking to go around 25'x25', absolute bare minimum size requirement is to be able to work on my CC SB F250 with the garage door closed, but would like it as big as possible. Will have multiple 220v circuits for a welder, air compressor, etc.

The primary focus will be auto repair, modification, and fabrication. I've got a heavily modified Jeep in addition to the F250, and need the room to be able to do a lot of fabrication in addition to basic repairs. Also looking at restoring some old cars once the Jeep is "done."

Also looking at options for integrating a deck/patio off the back of the shop, with the service door connecting the 2.

Looking forward to reading through other peoples' builds and gaining from their experience and stealing as many ideas as I can!

Here's a pic of the Jeep on our way back down Holy Cross:

Very nice. Good to have another Denverite. Unfortunately I cannot recommend anyone locally as I don't know the work of anyone around here. I've been stumbling through my remodel on my own.

Sounds like a fun project. I'm sure it will be awesome. Take a gander over at the 'Garage Gallery' and have at it - there are some great shops in there and the Garage Gallery INDEX at the top of the page will help you sort out some shops to look through.

Already been perusing the gallery a bit, lots of great ideas!

I had been considering these guys to do the majority of the work: http://www.republicgarages.com/ I can finish off the inside, but would be nice to have someone lay the slab and build out the frame, siding, and roof.

Yes, some great minds and hands here for sure. Ideas around that have not even been thought of yet appear. Good luck!

Before I built (or ordered materials for) my shop, I drove in stakes and ran string to represent the size and location on the property of the shop. I left openings in the string lines for the garage doors and the access door.
I parked my El Camino and a Nova in the shop footprint as well as carboard footprints for my tool boxes, hyd. press, engine stands grinder, workbench, etc. (anything that will be sitting on the floor).
Then, I'd act like I was working on the cars. I'd lay on the ground, bend over the fenders, etc. just to see if I could work on them comfortably! I ended up making my first shop bigger than I had originally planned.
Just a thought.
