Planning for Future Lift (Layout)

In the planning stages of a new detached workshop and want to prepare for a future MaxJax portable lift. The lift is not something that I will be using everyday, maybe even only a 50/50 chance that I do install one at all. However, I do want to cover my bases in case I do decide to put one in.

Am ok with the requirements for ceiling height (12' ceiling and metal rollup door) and concrete slab.

Mainly looking for guidance on how far the lift should be from the door opening and the space required from the passenger side and the shop wall. I want to ensure I have enough room to remove tires, access brakes, etc.

Right now the distance between the door opening and the inside wall is about 18-24 inches.

How wide is the door opening ? I have at least 4 foot all around on my lift and that works out good.

The door is 10' wide. Total interior width is 20'. So it's:
Wall 8'
Door 10'
Wall 2'

I have about 4'+ all around the lift with tool boxes lined up at the front of the lift. One suggestion is to line the lift up carefully with the door opening, so you dont have to turn or jocky your vehicle in any way to line up on the lift. I think that was probably the best thing I did when I was planning, well that and 8+inches of concrete where the lift bolts down.

The door is 10' wide. Total interior width is 20'. So it's:

I would mount my lift in the center of that door frame and that will give you ample room around each side.
