Hello GJ folks.
Been a wealth of information on this forum and I hope I've given back too!
anyway, I'm planning a garage build, hoping to get started this year before old man winter sets in .
considering my lot size & existing out building ( large shed) I can build 402 sq ft on floating pad.
I'm wrestling with a few things, input would be greatly appreciated with thoughts . I have a friend doing the drawings for me so I want to tell him dimensions etc
framing 10' high walls is a given
dimensions I'm thinking of are either 16x25, 16'6"x24'3" or 17'x23'6"
using a 10' door would you put the man door on the front or the side?
I can be as close as I want to the 14' shed behind, but I cannot connect the 2 structures, here's the dilema; if I leave about 4 ' between the shed & garage I have room to park my trailer beside the garage using a power dolly. if I move the garage up closer to the house to give more room behind the garage, I can magically make a lean to awning off the back & close it in over time, but I lose ability to park trailer beside garage as I wont have room to manuver it . Garage in any case will have a man door on the back wall so I can access the shed from the garage .
Window on 1 wall approx 4'x3' thoughts on size ?
Garage will be mostly storage & a bit of wood working. very little mechanical repairs but tool & equipment repairs , will have air plumbed , electricity and heat after final inspection so I'm planning on running conduit through the the pad for electric , gas etc ( told City wont be finished or heated/electric etc) as this will raise my taxes even more. also thinking pex in slab for future in floor heat
Okay, so tear me apart... oh wait, how about some input here ?
Thanks
