Plans for a welding project

I have a John Deere lawn tractor that I'd like to lift on my two post car lift. Does anybody know where I can find plans/ideas to build something to attach to my lift that will accommodate my lawn tractor.

I have a couple brackets I made for my mower. Golf carts lift with the regular ones. Something like that is pretty much custom.

I have a maxjax 2 post lift, and lift my 2048 JD Scotts mower in the same orientation as sberry.... The lift arms reach to the rear axles and the control arms of the front tires...

I lift it up to change the mower blades or clean under the deck about once /yr.

No attachments needed...

Its possible to use something like C4 (x5.4) channel to make a couple of bars which span the arms...depending on ground clearance.

An idea is a couple of bars you slide under the tractor/mower.

You can attach to the lift arms by tack welding a heavy nut under the web of the channel below a clearance hole and then dropping a long bolt thru the end of the lift arm with the pad removed, and engaging the nut. Likely some washers are needed. I'd use 5/8" bolts minimum. Repeat x3 to connect everything and then lift'erup.

It would be more of a cutting and drilling project as opposed to a welding one with just a few strong tacks needed.

I should get a pic of the adapters, mine are 4x4 angle a foot long with the inch pin welded in that fit the factory pad holes. I have marks painted on the floor to set it up.

Depending on length of lift arms, maybe use slings and shackles.
Cut steel to go across arms, secure and use slings and shackles.
I use slings and shackles on my overhead electric chainfall for lifting.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was thinking two 2x2 square tubes at the front and two at the back laying parallel then weld up something to attach to the end of each arm. I think the tractor weighs about 460 pounds so the 2 by 2 should be strong enough. I've seen some of these advertised by some lift manufacturers and they want stupid money for them. I have an idea in mind but suggestions really help. You know the old "if I were to build another one I would have?"

Might not need a whole bunch of stuff. Pull it in, see if 2 arms fit etc, might only need adapters, so much easier to store.
