I have been researching the purchase of a TIG welder and a plasma cutter. I currently have a Miller175. Like to step up and try TIG. I found this machine on E-Bay and wanted to get some input.

Thank you for any input you have, do not want to make a error on this type of purchase.

It is going to be used for hobby garage fun, not something used every day.

Thanks everyone and love the site. :bounce:

Where is it made and who will warranty it? Will you have to send it back to the seller for repairs? Are consumables locally available, or do you need to use their parts?

What happens if one part of it breaks? Kinda like the TV/VCR combo with a busted VCR part.

its already been said but its important, can you get consumables locally, its a ***** on Friday realizing that you need something for the weekends welds when you have to mail order it.

Repair is important but hopefully it wont break.

Jack on SFT sells them and by all reliable accounts they are a pretty fair machine for the price. I think they use a common consumable or are easy to get. It might interest me if I was a part timer, might be worth taking a look. Not an endorsement. On the other hand my plaz cost 2800 so there could be some wiggle room for quality here. Most cheap wire feeds and most 120v wall plug stick units are absolutely useless but the price gap between good and cheap is not such a huge leap.
