Hi All,
I've searched both here and the rest of the web, and can't seem to find answer to my question, so here goes. Sorry if this has been covered.
I bought as used Snap On parts washer recently. It was used, but not abused and came with some liners for the 30 gallon barrel. I put one of those liners in, added water, then poured some PSC 1000 on top of the water.
Fast fowrard a few months and a new compressor and new blast cabinet have me rearranging my shop. While relocating the parts washer I noticed some staining on the floor and the side of the barrel was wet. I removed the top and discovered that the liner has leaked and the barrel has a pin hole in it. I haven't lost a lot of fluid, so I don't think the leak has been there long.
I figure I have three options: 1) get a new barrel and run it without the liners and use replace it when it rusts (any thoughts on how often that might be are welcome); 2) buy some new liners and hope they don't leak, but still have a new barrel in case they do; or 3) move to a plastic barrel and not worry about rusting and therefore ditch the liners.
Option number three seems like the easiest to me. Any reason I can't run a plastic barrel under a drum style parts washer with water/PSC 1000 combo?
Thanks in advance for any input.
