Looking for something similar, however priced a little more friendly.

Well thats for five trays. Sears sells the craftsman equivalent. (In steel with rubberized magnet bottoms. A little flimsy, the magnets are held on with what seems like epoxy or something along those lines. Had one fall apart while it was hanging upside down without being used one, And another time i went to pick it up, and picked up everything but one of the magnets!)

I seriously need to quit this site... those look awesome.

At least my SO guy doesn't come again for a week, maybe I'll forget about them.

Why plastic instead of the usual steel ones? I like to be able to just clean them with whatever I have around. No worries over what may mess the steel ones up.

They make it rubberized so it doesn't scratch up or marr any automotive finishes. Worst thing in the world after working on a car is having to put most, all, or even more then the profit you made into a paint detailing or repainting of something you scratched up!

That's why I was leaning towards blue point ones. Hoping they would last longer than the craftsmans.

What are you using now?

The magnet is the only thing that should touch a vehicle. HF has metal ones with rubber coated magnets for $3. Free sometimes if you catch the coupon. Just another option...

I'm still using the craftsman trays, the current ones have held up alright (for now). Looking to replace them some time in the future for some bigger trays.

I never stick them to the car body anymore because the magnets get full of metal chips and sharp rust and it's like impossible to get it all off. I scratched a fender once just by pulling it off and let it drag slightly. Left a 2 inch long scratch.

Be nice if you could demagnetize it for a second to release all the particles.

Keep and use the tray in a small ziplock plastic bag.
Every now and then just take them out of the bag and as all the metal swarf will be on the outside of the bag it will fall off.

(I have a few bags with magnets inside such as on my pillar drill. Collects the small swarf and filings.)

The colored ones are nice for organization of different things or more than one car. 70 seems a little high but over the course of a few years pretty cheap per use.

I have a Cornwell branded parts tray that has two rubberized magnets on the bottom. Extremely strong magnets. I don't see the need for a plastic version of the tray.
