Just wondering peoples thoughts on using plastic wall panels on the lower 4 foot of a garage wall. These are the plastic sheets you see sometimes in bathrooms.

Our garage has drywall now and I am about to cut some holes to add somethings started thinking about installing this stuff I would get the benefit of being able to wipe the walls down and a little water protection.

Anyone done this or have some advice before I do?

Seal the bottom and joints and rinse away... other products are available too, PVC sheet material (wainscoting), etc.

A good alternative is to use 4x8' sheet metal. You can get it at your local vac supply house. I used it in parts of my shop and wish I had done it all the way around. I'd at least compare prices.

I did a lunchroom with gray FPR under the chair rail years ago, works great and in this case protected the walls, as a large percentage of the people that worked there were in wheelchairs.

I've used it in the past and plan to use it in my new shop, especially behind the metal lathes where oil etc splatters on the wall

I used adhesive, no fasteners, but it was only 32" tall so we could get 3 pieces per sheet and the chair rail hid the top edge.

I did it in my garage. I wainscoated my attached 2 car garage on several walls. I love it. I used specialized FRP glue and just glued each piece to a raw sheet rock wall.

I purchased it all from menards. I used a cordless angle grinder with a cutting wheel. Measure 3x cut 1x.

When I built the toilet room in my work shop I used FRP from floor to ceiling, even though it dinged my budget. I used the adhesive.
