I like this stuff. I go through 2-3 cans a year. Usually available at Lowes. I let it dry overnight to be sure it's ready for paint.

The waiting to recoat is what we're trying to stay away from.
We want a faster turn around. Even if it's not quite as good

Back to this.

Which rust converter has the fastest drying time before being able to paint?

We used to use Plasticote and then Jenolite. Both had a 4 hour or less dry time.
I know Plasticote is either out of business or they don't do rust converter anymore.

We can't find any Jenolite to buy. Everyone is out of stock.

CRC has a 12 hour cure time before painting
The rest are 24 to 48 hours
We've found waiting to be very unhappy.

Does anybody know of other fast curing rust converter?

What's the best rust converter out there? Xion looked good.

Painting the Propane tank and don't want to get bit by weather. We only need about a pint.

I sure wish I would have blocked that up a couple inches. Only 2" clearance to the concrete. And the rust is on the bottom. Of the tank.

Maybe I'll mess with it next year when it's a lot closer to empty and I can move it.

I doubt it. I should have waited until cooler weather to fill. I don't think we had any cooler weather this year, until this week

If you want a "quick" I've had good success with the Rustoleum Rust Reformer, dries pretty quick into a flat black finish, and I have applied a Rustoleum semi-gloss black topcoat 10 minutes later. All experience with this combo was from a "rattle can restoration" of a 1966 C10, and after owning it for 10 years before selling, had no occurrence of rust where treated with this combo.

Thanks. Sometimes real world experience is better than the directions.
I think i saw yesterday that they had white rust converter. I've never seen anything but the black purple stuff before.
