Platform for air compressor

I'm thinking about mounting my stand up air compressor up on a mezzanine / large shelf of the shop. Has anyone mounted their compressor high? Any tips?

I mounted in a 16' ceiling shop on top of an 8' tall 8'x14' project storage room. It worked fine and I was happy to have the space but keep in mind that it does shake the floor every time it runs which turns lower enclosed spaces into huge vibrating speakers.

Heat rises. Higher you mount the compressor, hotter it will run.

Use x bracing and screws, not nails, for vibration resistance.
