Found this website in my quest for a personal shop lift. Love it, I will fit in from the posts I've checked out so far. Love working in my shop, organizing, etc. Looking forward to hanging around!

I've been wanting to purchase a 4 post lift (with two jack units) for my shop for some time. Have my dads 1970 Road Runner that I need to get back together and off to the body shop.

Well after 2 to 3 weeks of solid research I bit the bullet and ordered a HD-9XW and two 4500lb jacks direct from BP (they honored Summit Racings price so that saved me $955, cool). I was considering the HDS-14T as I liked the idea of the 1/2" cable vs the 3/8"s that comes on the 9 series.

Ordered this on Friday and am really considering calling on Monday and seeing if I can change my order to the HDS-14T and 7000lb jacks.

The HDS-14T:
Not a huge footprint difference from the HD-9XW.
It is however 12" wider on drive through clearance.
It is 9" wider on the width of runways.
No castor kit available. (not that I will move it much anyway)
$2000 more than the HD-9XW package I bought.

My current pickup is a 2012 Ford Raptor in which the tire thead width is 84" (bulge of tire 86.5"). My next pickup will likely be a Ford Super Duty so it will be similar to my Raptor.

I'm not worried about the HD-9XW supporting my truck, just going to have a bit of overhang on the tires and the drive through clearance will be a snug fit getting it on the rack for oil change and tire rotation. Hmmmm

Sure I will end up bolting the lift down regardless of what model I get and I know I can come up with some sort of castor set up to move the HDS-14T if I feel the need to a different area of the shop.

I'm looking for any input on running a full-size pickup (crew cab) on the HD-9XW.
Pictures would be great.

The price of the HD9-XW is right at $5755 to my door. The HDS-14T would be $7985 (if they change my order and honor the Summit pricing). The $2230 difference isn't something to sneeze at but fortunately I can swing it. Just not wanting to regret buying the wrong lift.

Yes I considered a 2 post lift but in my home shop I truly believe the 4 post is what is best for all around use including storage between working on projects. I was an automotive tech for several years in my previous profession. Mostly used 12k two post lifts.

Greatly appreciate any input!

It appears that you are having some sort of buyers remorse. I think you should call the customer service department at BENDPACK and talk to them. Since you are going to buy a lift, I think it may be important to get the correct unit. You may have answered you own questions in your post. Like someone said in the OJ trial, "If it fits, you must acquire it."
If I have an important decision to make I would never ask for help on any forum. The possibility of the multitude of random suggestions may not be of any help to you.
I am in the market for a four-post hoist and I want it installed. I have had a rocky relationship with BendPac, but they were quick to make things right. It is important to me to have a proper recognised engineering approval. Sadly, BP are not made in USA.

I bought the Hd14 8 years ago.
I bought an extra wide, long and tall lift lift with two RJ7 jacks because I wanted the cars and trucks to easily fit on the lift safely and plenty of room to drive on with long truck wheel bases.
Glad I did.
One of my friends has a HD 9 ....his 40's cars hang over the front and back of the lift.
He has to be careful to position the cars just right.
Extra room on a lift is good
Two rolling jacks is even better..

I think the worst thing you can do at this point is to make a rushed/hasty decision

If I was in your shoes, I think I would call them first thing Monday morning and put the order on HOLD which will give you some time to come to the right decision

I greatly appreciate the time you all took to chime in. I've simply been acting like my wife trying to decide where to eat on this lift purchase. I'm going to phone them on Monday and upgrade to the HDS-14T and the RBJ7000 Bridge Jacks. I know I'll be happier in the end. I've actually been shopping for lifts for much longer than just a couple weeks. Just decided now it needs to happen.

My local auto friends (most still work in a shop) hate 4 post lifts and I get it. I always preferred a two post while making a paycheck at it. All the car collectors here run a cheap $2200 storage lift for race cars and restoration stuff. Neighbor has 4 of them simply for storage.

Nice to get some input from those who went down the same road I am. Thanks and If anyone has any pictures they can contribute I'd greatly appreciate it. (thanks to those who have). I've pounded YouTube and sites such as this looking for pickups and long vehicles on lifts and came up with little. Seems most hobby guys are good with a lift such as the HD-9 or similar.

Good choice, I have an HD9ST as my vehicles and available space were smaller when I originally bought the lift. I have had vehicles on the lift that rub both post gussets on the way in and hang over front and rear, so I would definitely go bigger since you can.

When I moved the lift between homes, I damaged the hydraulic cylinder. Fully prepared to buy a new cylinder, I called bendpak to order one and Scott sent me one for free. Their customer service and product quality is awesome, I am sure you will get exactly what you want and the deal you are looking for.

I have a HD9XW and my '16 F250 crew short bed fits just fine. The F250 would fit better on the 14 though. One thing to consider is the damn lift is always in the way... is bigger always better?

I purchased and installed a BendPak HD-14T with two RBJ7000 bridge jacks a couple months ago. Besides a few BendPak quality issues with the lift during the install, things are working well. The HD-14T easily lifts my F350 Powerstroke Crew Cab Dually (it just fits lengthwise). My main disappointment with the bridge jacks is that the RBJ7000 does not have an adapter kit like the RBJ4500 Specialty Adapter Kit (5210367). Two of the four vehicles I regularly service do not work with the jacks due to narrow frame spacing (including my F350). I do not understand why there isn't a kit available for the RBJ7000 and confirmed with BendPak that the RBJ4500 kit does not fit. Building my own adapters is on my todo list. I wish you the best with your purchase and I have been very happy with choosing a 4 post lift.

Little update. I was a mess over the weekend. So glad I posted up here. Really enjoy the site and all it has to offer.

I got ahold of my salesman (Gabriel) at around 12pm Central time. I was going nuts. Long story short he phoned back (finally) at round 3pm Central Time.

Informed me that he got the lift off the truck and had accounting and office staff working on changing the order to the HDS-14T with two RBJ7000 jacks.

I asked if they could honor the Summit pricing (saves $1000 vs Benpak website) and he said yes. (nice!)
I asked him about shipping the lift and he reported within a day or so and the jacks within a couple weeks.......????
He said he would phone and email regarding a few details and that should happen shortly. (no word yet)

So the only downside I see at this point is the non certified HDS14T vs what I had on order.
So looking forward to getting this in shop and hoping for no issues like I've just discovered regarding the Bendpak 14 series lifts vs the 9XW I was looking at.

Around noon I received a call from Gabriel. My order has been changed to the HDS-14T and 2-RBJ7000 jacks. Honored the "summit pricing".
Lift ships out right away and the jacks will come within a couple weeks (I hope).
No choice of color, grey it is.

I think I will be much happier with this size of lift even though I likely will never exceed 9000 lbs. Appreciate all the help.

I think you will be happier all the way around now. You never know what else you'll be putting up in the air.

Exactly. My HD9 took a big bite of my 26x24. I wouldn't go bigger than what you really need.

Quick report on my install of the HDS-14T. It's operational, some issues, but it's up and going already. I purchased the correct size lift for my needs. Jacks will be in next week and I'm really looking forward to getting everything situated and bolted down.
We put a std 1/2 ton K1500 on it for the first lift. This is my pickup in it's parking spot until I get the project on it.

I've been debating the same 2 lifts and can't figure out if a raptor will fit underneath. Have you tried to fit it underneath with a car on top?

The dimensions say it should fit with 1-2" on the top and ~5" per side. Seems rather cramped but could be worth it to stack 2 vehicles.

I've been extremely pleased with the 14T. Very happy I choose it over the HD9XW personally.

Zero issues parking under the lift with another vehicle on the top side.

I did have a slight pin issue. Bendpak shipped a couple extra out but I still had to slightly adjust the grooves for retainers.

I had these shims cut out and they worked great. I shimmed each .250" and only one post needed an additional .1" shim. Turned out great!

I love mine, wish I would have not have skipped the on the jacks. And while cramped a bit, it is worth it to be able to stack, as someone said. I did have the motor literally make a popping noise, smoke slightly, and that was it for the motor. It was out of warranty, so I took the motor to a local electric motor shop, and they hand rebuilt it at less cost. I am still very happy with the whole unit. Underbuying *****.

I was only going to purchase one jack but was fortunate enough to be able to pick up both when I bought my lift. Pretty happy I did.

Thanks for the updates. All too often people ask questions about something like this but never come back to report how things went.

Photobucket isn't very user friendly so I'll work on some additional pictures later.

Other than the pin issue, I replaced some nuts and bolts with higher quality units as some are rather cheap!!!!

Overall I'm satisfied with the unit. Wish it was certified just because, but I've been around lifts long enough and I have no concerns with this one.

If I were to install another, I'd be able to knock it out in no time flat.

Handy tool for installing the lift....

Configured a bit different now, but installed this unit from Tractor Supply.

@Gunner75 Saw your post regarding your initial Bendpak debate. I'm building a new home in MI. Working with architect regarding fitting 2 cars plus my 2014 SCREW Raptor in the garage. I've had several exchanges with Bendpak and they are recommending the HD-9XW w/2 RBJ-4500. My concern, like yours, is that my truck sits 87" outside tire to tire. I intend to use the lift primarily for raising our two passenger cars (AUDI Q8 and Panamera 4), as well as use the lift for maintenance on my Raptor. I see that you went with the HD-14T and RBJ-7000 any additional feedback would be appreciated.
