I may have a chance to pick this up but have no info on it. It looks like a decent vise but sure would like to know more about it.

Any vise experts out there that can tell me what it is and how much I should offer for it?

Thanks!

It looks like a decently made vise and almost certainly not Asian.

Value - Cant' really help as Size in particular matters, and so can location.

Assuming a 4" wide jaw, and no damage not visible in the pic, I'd say start around $50 - 100 (Assuming you are looking for a user, not a resell opportunity), but again, that's a total wag.

What are they asking?

Agree, it appears solid, with some Morgan styling cues and the "No150".

What appears to be "N-inside-a-Star-of-David" logo would hint at Israeli manufacture, but wasn't aware they had that much domestic iron foundry.

$200 and that includes the table it's sitting on PLUS the table shown below. The seller is firm on their price.

It seems like a good deal, but the vise could certainly swing it one way or the other. I plan on calling them later on but just wanted to be somewhat educated before doing so.

Funny you should mention that Jack. I actually did a search for "Star of David vice" last night hoping to get lucky :D

With both table and the sheet metal bender its not a loser deal (assuming the tables aren't junk), but its nowhere near a usuck deal either. how bad do you need the vise and benches?

I would NOT be surprised at an Israeli foundry. Israel long ago planned for being as self sufficient as possible, particularly for armaments/military, and tooling companies would be at the bedrock of that plan...

They have their own guns (Starting with the Uzi...) tanks, aircraft...

Tables look to be in great shape as well as the vise. Without dimensions and weight of the vise or full size pics of the tables, but I don't think $200 is a bad deal if you can use them. Or if you just need the vise the tables could sell for almost that much if the one the vise is on is bigger and they are in great shape.

Good luck

I can make good use of the two tables as my table-top bandsaw and mini router table are sitting on the floor right now just waiting for tables such as these. The seller indicates "industrial" tables so odds are they are solid.

Definitely in need of a vise too as my 4" Asian gave up the ghost last year.

Only downside is about a hour away...or about $20 in gas. The flipside is my brother lives not far from there so will be a good place to meet up for dinner:beer:

Well that stinks! Just called the guy and he said someone just drove off a few minutes ago with the vise and tables

Oh well. He did say the vise was U.S. made.

At any rate, thanks for your help on this one guys :)

Yep...keeping an eye out for local deals. Would love to score a Wilton bullet vice but yikes!...$$$. Ebay is tough since there is such a large audience and also having to figure shipping into the equation too.

I wish you had gotten it no one yet has a picture of the opposite side where presumably it says USA made.
