I inherited and was given a large quantity of vintage tools. While I've grown up working on cars and am familiar with most of the tools in these tool chests this one has stumped me.

It's some sort of press but for the life of me I can't figure out what it was used to press. The company name used to be on the bottom side but that has worn off to the point it is unreadable. These pictures are after I soaked it to get the rust off. Maybe one of you guys can help.

Looks like a home-made hose clamp vise.

Could this be used to hold band saw blades while welding?
I don't have a band saw but I suppose it could. You can see the channel on the one side of the jaws and the other jaw has 45 degree corners. The corner against the bottom has a bur on it from something being locked in at that angle many times.

These are my tools, there are many like them, but these are mine.
