Hello all. Currently renovating my garage. The whole garage is a train wreck right now as i'm painting the walls so everything has been moved lazily into the center of my two car garage.
I have a corner in the garage to the left of my subpanel just above where i store my welding cart which is dead space. Since i have alot of stuff, i want to use every space possible for storage. Unfortunately the garage rails are within 16" of the wall and i can't install standard cabinets with swing out doors as the doors would obviously not open all the way. However, a cabinet or two, no more than 14" deep, with sliding doors would be excellent for that wall. I need a few inches to the left of my subpanel for some emt conduit i'll be running for power to additional lighting i'll be installing so i can't go all the way from the wall to the subpanel.
My available measurements are approximately 14" deep, 4' tall, 3' wide. Below is a pic of what i mean. I can take better tomorrow. I googled sliding door cabinets but didnt get any satisfactory results. I figured the hive mind here may be able to help me find something that will work. I plan to store all my paint cans, automotive oils, and welding supplies in these cabinets so i really want enclosed cabinets. I considered welding up some cool industrial style type shelving/racks, or building some shelving out of wood as im very handy with the welder and or wood tools, but i'm steering away from the open look. I want everything enclosed in my garage. The open shelving look really makes a garage look sloppy. After im done painting, i'll be adding the gladiator cabinets to the walls, a pallet rack along one wall, and doing the floors in racedeck after filling some voids in some very spalled concrete on one side of my garage.
Can you guys suggest something for me?
THANKS !
Heres the pic. Sorry its not of the exact corner i need help with. I'll fix that tomorrow when i get home. But you can see the subpanel in the back and the open space to the left where i want to place the cabinets.
