Mac tool warranty dept shipped to me as box arrived today. the package are bigger than i did mailed one before.. i got new 15mm flex socket 1/4dr and different wrench as mac tool gave me BW-1451 (21mm to 34mm ratcheting wrench like this http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXNO=9330029&PMT4NO=35524113.. no sign of new 11mm ratcheting wrench..

do i need call mac tool company to tell them that they mail me a wrong wrench?? or forget it as keep it and buy 11mm ratcheting wrench from MSC industrial store?? it is MORALLY ISSUE!! please let me know what is your opinion?? :shocking:

i am more leaning to have call to mac tool company to see why i get wrong wrench... but i would like to keep that 21mm to 34mm wrenches if can't, that fine with me...

I think you will sleep better at night if you send those wrenches to me!:lol_hitti

Kidding aside, you already answered your own question when you stated that it was a moral issue.

I would contact them and let them know of the error. More than likely they will just say oops and allow you to keep them and still send you a replacement for the wrench you broke. If they want it back, then I'm sure they will cover this shipping.

I think we all know a saying: _______ is the best policy!

I believe that what comes around goes around. A persons true character is what that person does when no one is watching them.

It wouldn't have bothered me a bit other than I would never had a reason to use a set of wrenches that are 21mm through 34mm; but if you say you can use them, then I say you've got a good deal.

Moral issue? It's called carma; somewhere along the line you did something good and this is carma's way of rewarding you. :bounce:

Yes and no. I dont have a problem ripping off MAC because I don't like thier own morals.

Good example of this happened with my dad earlier in the week. My dad had ordered a replacement part for one of his Shimano fishing reels a few months back, and they promptly shipped him the replacement parts as well as a sort of tune up kit free of charge.

About a week ago, He received a warranty return fishing reel in the mail from them. He called them up, told them he did not send that reel in for warranty and that he would gladly ship it back. Shimano reimbursed him for shipping, wrote him a nice note on the crediting invoice and sent him a pretty nice hat.

There are still good people and good companies out there. I would call MAC and see what they say. They will probably have you send them back because it is an expensive set of tools, however you may get lucky.

I had the same thing happen when I ordered a pair of boots. The company sent me two pair. One that I ordered and the other was about 75 dollars more. I called and they sent someone to pick up the extra. The gut I talked to said he was surprised that I called, and that I could keep which ever pair I wanted. So I ended up with with a 275 dollar pair of boots just for being honest.

Hey Andy... no one ever regrets doing the right thing. You can have either the wrenches or your integrity. You, fortunately have chosen wisely.

You see. . . your Dad got those customer service folks all confused about the difference between BW1451 and BW1461 and may have caused some permanent psychological damage to their brains. The right thing to do in the interest of safety would have been to keep those wrenches. :bounce:

I commend you for your honesty which is in short supply in today's society. The tool folks were probably just as shocked that someone would contact about a mistake in the buyers favor.
This tells me a lot about your character and work ethic; someone that the public would trust repairing their vehicles.

Let me be perfectly honest about my dishonesty:

If they would've sent me a full set of extra long combination wrenches 10mm-19mm - they would've stayed with me. ;)
