2004 Buick Rendezvous.

Driver's power window has come loose from the "clamp" that attaches the glass to the regulator. Actually I've reattached it 4 times. Each time it lasts a shorter time period before coming loose again. The last time it came loose the very first time I tried it after repair. So I fixed one more time but haven't rolled it down since. The last time I fixed it (before this final time) I put epoxy on it and then let it sit for a couple of days before trying it. Same old story.

Note: each time I fix this it takes 2-3 hours. I'd like to find a permanent cure. Also I dare not go through any kind of drive-through, as I would have to open the door to order or talk to the person inside. An additional note; this is not a daily driver but it still would be nice for the window to work.

Anyone found a way to firmly attach the clamp to the glass?

As a glass installer in a past life. Take it to an auto glass shop. They have the glass primer and adhesive for the job. Should take a tech about one hour or less.

Thanx man. I never thought about that. I think I can have the inner door panel off (and still be able to drive it) to make it easier for him/her.

I believe that the glass is glued into the plastic channels on those correct?
If so we use a urethane 2 part adhesive with prep solvent as stated above, 3M Window Weld is what I use along with 3M single step primer
Neither are cheap.
There are no plastic channels. The (bare) glass slides in the "fuzzies" front, back, and top. The bottom is also bare glass and that's where the clamp attaches.

None-the-less, the adhesive you mention will probably work. It's also possibly what no704 was referencing above.

So this has the regulator with 6mm bolts you tighten up to clamp onto the glass?
If so just replace the regulator.

I’d replace the regulator while you’re in there

But the glass shop can stick it on so it won’t come off

I had the same issue with the rear view mirror

I bought the glue and stick it back on and it didn’t stay

Took it to a glass place and they glued it back on and it never fell off again .

I wouldn’t bother doing the door panel myself, the glass tech will have all the correct tools and know where all the hidden fasteners are.
As with the rear view mirror attachment. The primer and glue is very expensive. That’s why take it to a shop. They will use a couple drops out of their bottle that was $200.
