That hammer was modified after it was sold .I'd be leary of hittin anything real hard with that.

Sorry the other looks like it for adjusting vale lash on an ohc engine

Seen something similar with guys working at height , they put a safety line through it so if dropped it doesn't kill anyone below.. Usually loops around the back under the claw.

Its missing the replaceable steel cap striking face, they do smooth and milled faces.
The exact same face they used on the Ti Tech titanium hammer.
Not a bad nail wacker.

Yep.
Technically the hammer could be a 38062 also I guess the smooth and milled had a different number
The part no on the Craftsman smooth cap is 938068 and milled 938069

It does look like it has been used sans cap and the head is mushroomed slightly so it will probably need some grinding.
