Please identify this UNICO tool

My buddy found this on the road. It looks like a type of electrician's crimping tool. I'm more interested In the "UNICO" logo and if someone can characterize this tool for age, quality, and any history. And why does the electrician need the pointy end of the hammer? What is it used for?
