No name , just the #4 , jaws are 85mm wide.

Anyone know the age and manufacturer please .

I don't know who manufactured your vise. The style of vise and markings remind me of some older vises I've seen listed on ebay france. I presume it might be french manufactured.

Dusty: first off i like the lines and styling of your old clamp on vise. is that a full size deck of cards because those types of vises are usually smaller?

no clue on the maker, but it looks like you are across the pond and we have a few guys over there that know a lot about vises so post up this and maybe a few more pictures on the big vise thread. here's the link.

LOL Drive's it's matches, not a deck of cards.

85 mm jaws would be about 3.3" wide. Looks like a larger version of the one Neophyte posed up.

Thanks for your thoughts guys , the vice was for sale and I have bought it. I hope when it gets here , I will find a brand on it. But if not , never mind , it's a great looking piece and will get a little work in the studio :)
