I am not happy with the pin retention on my Milwaukee 18V impact wrench and want to keep a short extension on it, I like the higher quality tools, but SO only makes them down to 3", is there a 1-2" impact extension for 1/2" drive that you can recommend that would have perhaps ring or ball detent? I am open to imported things for this item.

I hate to say this but Harbor Freight.....
I have the set above...... cheap, but it works...
I had some bolts torqued to 200 ft, they were tight...
Used A ratchet with one of HF extenstions..
Did not break..

Harbor freight might sell less than optimal tools, but after having owned and used their impact extensions in 3/8's and 1/2" professionally for over a year, they get a definite thumbs up from me. Never broken one, and they have a full waranty.

I have their 3/8 impact extensions, they are ok....

Well, that's why I posted it up. I bought those extensions in the early ninties when I got my Snap On impact sets (almost 20 years - sheesh I'm getting old). They've held up just fine between the Snap On's and my IR2131.
Ah, I do recall asking but did not look for a reply there, I wouldn't mind a permanent conversion.My $20 permanent conversion suggestion was really that much too expensive?

your best bet for a 1-2'' would be using a impact u joint from craftsman... got mine for 9 bucks and its strong as an ox.. plus has a ball style detent
