I bought a couple of curio cabinets at a half-price furniture sale, had additional glass shelves made at a local glass shop, and some of my 1:18 collection is displayed in them in my garage office. The cabinets have mirrored backs and are illuminated - cost me about $180 each.

We're planning to have a built in glass display case to show off the model collection in the new garage. With many dozens of 1/18th's, and 100+ 1/43's, it should be a neat. :)

I'm not overly concerned about the "dust free" aspect. I enjoy spending a rainy afternoon dusting the cars.

On a side note, if you like GMP's stuff, go to their website and join "Tom's Garage". It is a "club" that's supposed to give all sorts of fantastigamorical benefits at the cost of $25.00. One benefit is does give you is a $100 model of a 92 Mustang GT at no additional charge. That's right, you get a $100 model and all of the other "benefits" for $25. I placed my order last Sunday and got a shipping confirmation Monday morning.

Nice Mustang collection! I signed up for that deal a few weeks ago and got the yellow vert. that you have. You also get a $25 coupon for your birthday that I need to use up before the end of this month.
What car will you be receiving?

Oh yea, where did you get the Ford repair sign?

They're currently offering a copy of their gray 1992 GT.

A friend of mine gave that sign to me for my birthday a few years back. I've never seen another one and don't know where he got it.

You can get individual plastic display cases at hobby shops or Wal Mart. Sizes vary. Giovanni Plastics makes nice acrylic multiple car cases that are really nice and go well in garages. I do suggest you cover them. Bad things can happen in garages to little cars. BTW, I worked for GMP these past 6 years as a consultant. Before that, Franklin Mint.

Like cars are meant to be driven, die-cast models are meant to be fondled and admired. I just can't bring myself to cage them up.

Speedshop, did you used to come in to the Chevy dealership in Limerick? I had a customer who worked for FM and gave me a blue FM 69 Corvette.

87 GN,
Might be me... I use to bring my '69 SS in for PA State Inspection there. Been off the road for a few years being restored. Hope to have it back running this year. Car is pictured in my Avatar.

We're having some friends look for commecial grade Glass display cases at regional auctions, apparently there are some great deals.

We have probably 150+ models in various sizes, but there is a alot of 1/18, so we're hoping we can get the display cases sized right to go into built in sections of the garage...so it atleast looks like we prethought it out ;)
