NOT a fan of the self adjustable pliers...... Gimme the original 430, 460 Channel Locks!
Still have my original 460 Channel Locks that are over 50 years old...... 30 of those 50 years they were used everyday!

BTW! Out of the two choices I would go with the Irwin set...... I have some Irwin’s and they are OK.

I like using the kobalts. It's my go-to plyers because of the self adjustment. Just squeeze and go. However, there's not a lot of "travel", as in, once it sees resistance, it goes into lockup mode, and then you get another 2-3mm of travel. So it doesn't work in all cases. Also the jaws are serrated, unlike the knipex pliers wrench. It'll chew up a lot of stuff, and vise versa, the teeth will get chewed up if you abuse it too much.

And this is probably like comparing a honda civic to a lexus, but the knipex cobra, even in the 10" size has a much narrower width than both the kobalts and the irwins. I didn't appreciate this until I started using it. It can get into much tigher spaces and apply greater pressure.
