I use a shallow drawer for wire cutters and various pliers. I have the channel locks in with crescent wrenches and vice grips alone in a 1/2 drawer. Vice grip clamps are in a separate area with welding stuff.

mine are stacked and layed flat in my cart. I may have to order a plier rack for that drawer. In the box they're kept in their plastic trays which keep things neat but that drawer is getting a little full. May have to do away with the trays for some racks if I buy any more pliers.

I got them at the Dollar Tree, they're packed in twos there. I was in there to buy some disposable plastic food bowls with lids, I use them for nut and bolt organization for projects. Keeps everything tidy and I toss them in the plastics recycling when done, if they're cruddy. No need for a brake like some of the heavier closet racks either. Easy peasy.

Search for it on Snap On's website. $20.40 and they give you free shipping.

I got this plier rack from Northern Tool at the store for $2!

I had to cut a few inches off of it to fit...

I bought mine from Amazon, I also had to cut it down, but was able to use the smaller piece too. This is an older pic, and yes I had screwdrivers in there haha

northern tools sell a similar rack. They actually have a bit larger spacing on one side of the rack for larger pliers. But I had to cut it down as well. It really added allot more storage to my tool chest putting them on a rack.

Who knows?
I've got two of the plyworx and love them.

If you have pliers with the springs in them, I take a ziptie around the handle and tighten it up until the handle clears the drawer. Whenever I use the plier I just slide it off. Nice and easy.

Yup that is a nice simple solution for spring loaded pliers. My wire wire stripper is set up that way with the tie wrap.

I know this is 2 years late for some of ya but, I found the plyworx plier rack on a different site for a bit cheaper. Try www.newark.com and search for newark part #95T3800 this should come up with GRIP ON TOOLS item #57000. I was able to buy it for $6.99 and free shipping. It doesn't show a picture of the item but go to: http://www.gripontoolsshop.net/product.php?id=57000 I searched all over for this and the prices for this thing was nuts- Upwards of $40!! Good luck.

Did you actually order and receive one yet? What did they charge for shipping? That site does not seem to get a lot of good reviews...

PS - Are you affiliated with that site? Not trying to be paranoid but it's interesting you picked an old outdated thread for your first post?

Sorry for the late response. I work on the road and just got home last week. I understand your paranoia. We all work too hard for our money to be p!ss!ng it away on products that don't work or are too hard to obtain. I didn't see their reviews before placing my order but holy **** they have some 'splainin to do. :eyecrazy: And no I'm not affiliated with them. Anyways, I ordered 4 racks. $6.99ea, $1.98 tax, $4.95 shipping, Grand total= $34.89 for 4 racks to my door. I think it took about 8-12 days to get them. Last week I cut and placed them in my toolbox. They look nice, I'll post some pics in December when I'm home again. Oh, and my choice of first thread post was simply a well thought out scheme of detailed and perfectly executed actions based on theories and ideas of a doctor named Suess. I'm just BSing. I was tired of looking for them darn red handled Dykes. :)

Okay, I tried the wire rack ideas mentioned here and I'm dumbfounded how easy this was. I hit up the local Dollar Tree place and got a pair of stepped wire shelf racks. They provide three levels of stepped storage for spices or similar and are about 12" wide and coated in white vinyl.

A quick trip through the metal band saw shortened the assembly to a "W' shape that worked out really well. Flip them upside down and put into the toolbox drawer and- wow. It worked great. Pliers slipped right in, stayed vertical, no problem. I regained easily 60% of the storage space in that drawer alone, and the pliers aren't piled on top of each other. Now they are easily accessible.

I had a leftover piece that was one set of wire tines still attached to one set of the taller legs from the back of the shelf that sort of resembled a rake or comb. I looked at that and realized it sort of looked like a pegboard hanger for screwdrivers or similar. I bent the long legs to the offset for pegboards and bent each metal tine about 1/2" in from the tip and up at at about a 45 degree angle. Test fit and- tada! Instant shelf for pegboards, or storage for screwdrivers orwhatever you want. Pretty darn nifty.

Total waste was two 1.5" pieces of wire and four vinyl wire caps that I kept for future projects. That's really affordable at $1 for each 12" rack!

And I'd have never even have thought to even know about storage options like this if I hadn't stumbled across it here on GJ.

Thanks guys. That's really cool.
