I had some down time at work the other day and built a pliers rack out of some ceiling wire, made a jig out of a scrap piece of wood and a couple nails and bent some 6 inch pieces of wire into shape the welded it all togather, it turned out nice didn't spend more than an hour making it and it sure beats all my pliers laying in the drawer

Jeez !

I thought I was bad when I had to take my snips and put them in a drawer in the rollaway bottom because the drawer would not close. (Shallow drawer, so pliers must lay flat.)

I did mine last week. I used the electrical wire / spring coil method that guys have been doing with wrenches. Im still looking for a good solution for the spring loaded mini pliers.

I came up with a solution to the spring loaded issue. I have the actual pliers wrack, whatever they call it. In the slots I put spring loaded pliers and strippers into I just put a zip tie around the top highest peak, then squeeze them as they go in and the the zip tie keeps them held down nicely. No more stuck drawers cause a pair of pliers is jamming.

How deep are your guys drawers using this vertical/stand up method?

Can it be done with a 3" drawer and the plyworx setup?

My wife just got me the wrench organizer for my birthday last week. It really cleaned up my pliers drawer.

I got mine from the Matco guy. Absolutly love it. Staying organized has saved me so many tools i otherwise would have lost. Just last week i was putting my tools away after a job (i do this every job for this reason) when i found i was missing my Snap on fdp 18mm. It was sitting on the controll arm of a van that i finished, test drove, and parked in the lot. Thank God it was still there!

Those are nice, I need to get some of those. Got a hole entire drawer full of pliers, but they are all laying down flat sucking up valuable space. I will have to swap to a deeper drawer tho

how to build a pliers rack

Thanks for giving me the idea!

I hit up Dollar Tree this morning and picked up a few of their coated wire racks. Five dollars and a few minutes later, I have two more wrench racks (one for metric and one for my 1 1/16"+ and adjustable wrenches) and two pliers racks.
