I like the one I got. I fit more pliers in the drawer with it and I can find what I'm looking for.

I got mine at etoolcart price was less 2 years ago, though.

I use a couple of pieces cut from a dish drying rack:

Eh, it doesn't really look that great to me. (the products for sale, not the homemade solutions)

Same here. I actually like the look of the homemade dish rack ones better.

This is definitely something I would never use. I can imagine getting my fingers caught in the thing while reaching for pliers with one hand and holding some fiddly spring-loaded part with the other.

I like mine laying flat in a drawer.

Merkava, they are mostly HF and Craftsman all dipped in yellow vinyl. I've discovered that the vinyl doesn't hold up well when it's applied over an existing rubber/plastic covering. It does work well when used over bare metal. They're being used 'til I can afford a Knipex drawer.

For storage, it seems to me that laying flat in a shallow drawer is the easiest way to see each plier, but takes up the most space (which I don't currently have) and makes it difficult to grab one with dirty hands without getting the dirt on adjacent drawer liner or other pliers (assuming the handles are somewhat nestled). I'm into clean, probably stupidly so, but the tools are a collection as well as working items for me.

If I had a drawer deep enough to support pliers vertically or even at an angle, I might be inclined to use such a rack as well.

But since most of my drawers are shallow, my pliers are laid flat as well.

I got two cd racks at the Habitat store for 50 cents each. Cut them down the middle with a cutting wheel and have almost exactly the thing from Northern Tool. It works for wrenches too.

I like those drying racks. I was thinking you could bend some of those wire clothes hangers into a rack. They seem to accumulate all the time.
