I have been focusly collecting Plomb for about 4 years now. Like many I was hooked by the design of the pebble patterns which slowly creeped over to other Plomb eras and designs. As many of you know I have been aggressively been trying to complete my DOEs pebbles to complete the pebble wrench grand slam as Stormking did. While looking for the last wrenches I had become bored so started filling other wrench and socket sets by trading with other members here while shaking every bush and turning over every stone I can think of. Some presistance paid off today. I had the amazing opportunity to purchase a large Plomb collection from someone I met at a swap meet a few years back. With this purchase it put me over the 1,100 mark with around 600 being unique (not dupes).

Well here is a couple pics of the collection. Starting off 5 Plomb tool boards including a DOE wrench, Screwdrivers, Pliers, Adjustable and Pipe wrenches, and lastly a dual marked 1/2" drive board. I also had to buy most of the tools that were on the boards. Most will be dupes but some are new to me.

In some of the other tools including 2 leatherettes with a mostly full set of cold chisels and tappered punches. My first hammer and some larger pipe wrenches and a 12" adjustable to finish out my adjustables.

I feel hitting this mile stone is more of a checkpoint vs a finish line and I am still pushing to have one of the most diverse collections around. All while learning new history almost weekly about his amazing company.

As many of us collectors can say, most of the fun is in the hunt.IMG_20190517_183349223.jpegIMG_20190517_183548620.jpegIMG_20190517_183602187.jpegIMG_20190517_183608116.jpegIMG_20190517_183619684.jpegIMG_20190517_183626052.jpegIMG_20190517_183652582.jpeg

Nice set of boards olson, they all seem to have the same patina, did you get them as a group?
Yes all in the same group and the seller did as well. They must have came out of the same hardware store.

Congrats Roy! Definitely looks like a pick of a life time and I can't think of a place more appropriate for this collection to wind up. You may have to redesign the Plomb shrine with those boards.

Thank you. Still playing Tetris in my head on how to make it fit.

Nice score! Congratulations. How come I never meet anyone like that at the swap meet?!
I have found that networking with other collectors is where it is at. Up here the people that do collect Plomb don't bring it to the meets because no one around here knows it and won't pay for it. Around here SK and Craftsman are King and typically bring top dollar due to the name reconigition.

Very fortuitous! If you recall, I had just asked a few pages back on the Plomb thread if anyone had any leatherette pouches, as I was thinking of trying to make a facsimile for my LA tappet wrench set. All their punches were the same in this era except for the size, shape, number of pockets, etc, so when you get a chance, please post more pics. I see the ones you posted, which will be helpful, but a few I would like in particular are a close up of the stitches/seams in the pockets, the seams around the outside, and especially a good shot of the marking, flattened down if possible, and the height of the letters.

Oh, and great haul! :)
