Has any of you plomb collectors ever seen a 5466 1/2" Breaker Bar 10" Long with a pebble finish. I picked one up at an estate sale and did some research online and only found the knurled round handle. Is this a rare find. I can post pics later.
Thanks,
Roy

I have the #5468 with pebble handle, 1/2". It's 18" long.

Not the same as yours, but it does have the pebble...

Now I have the 5468 which is 18", the 5467 which is 15", and the 5466 which is 10". It looks like they all come in the knurled handle round. But can not find any information on the 5466 10" in pebble. Any information would be great. And if there is any other 1/2" pebble breaker bars in 1/2" drive.

Hi, Yes - that is a more uncommon find - and a good one. If you'd like to sell it I'm sure many of us here would be interested (including myself).

Or you can start collecting Plomb now, too... in addition to SK.

The short 1/2 in pebble is one of the breaker bars I believe was produced less commonly in the pebble finish.

Like FrankLee said - the 1'4 inch pebble is pretty rare, the 3/8ths is pretty common... but they made a 5266 long 3/8ths drive bar which is pretty rare in pebble, and the pebble 5450 ratchet (long 1/2 drive) is pretty uncommon

That's a great score you found... what did you have to pay for it!?!?

The story behind this one is. My father and I frequently go to estate sales and we live about an hour away from each other. There was a sale after work in his home town with just small hand tools advertised. He knows I like Plomb and S-K and Absolutely no one over here has even heard of Plomb and they are rare. He found a 1/2" drive set with the 5466 and 5468 breaker bars the speeder and 10" ratchet. Sockets from 7/16"-1-1/16" only missing 9/16" but including 19,21,25,31/32". The case is not original. I paid him $35 for the set I found a case a couple years back and have been slowly building a set. So I would like to keep it unless the price is way too nice to let it go. If any one has the 9/16" they are willing to part with send me a PM.
Thanks,
Roy

Awesome pics WWIIJeep!!! And that's a nice set Roy - the 32nds sizes are fairly uncommon... especially the 25. I believe they also made a 29/32nds... I'd have to check a catalog to be sure.

We'd love if you could throw some pics up!

Still waiting to meet up with and pick them up here is a teaser pic that is not very clear. I go every saturday I do not work it has become an addiction. All of them Auction style and the amount sometimes is crazy started out with spending $40 to $400 and now $700 per auction. All the the money that make/lose is spent on more auctions and funding my tools for work. Great hobby and I really enjoy doing it. Do any of you guys do similar like this?

Looking at the case in a larger pic it looks correct. The color threw me off because it was not olive green. But i remember that they ran the red for a while possibly during or after WWII? Anyone have a catalog of the possible set so I can build it in full.

There are a few of us around who collect Plomb. There is a pretty serious collector west of Madison.
