Plomb DR8 1/2" Ratchet Specs

Hello all,
I was looking at the Alloy Artifacts page recently, and noticed that when discussing the Plomb DR8 1/2" ratchet, they describe the ratchet as having a 32tooth drive gear and even call out that it was a particularly high tooth count for that era of ratchet (1920s-early 30s).

As an owner of a DR8, I know what my version of that wrench feels like and there is no way my wrench has 32 teeth. In fact I took the cover off mine and confirmed it has a 14 tooth gear.

So my question goes to anyone else out there that owns one of these, what is in your ratchet? Was there some change to these wrenches over the years? Does the wrench used at Alloy Artifacts actually have that many teeth on the gear, or was that a typo?

Thanks

I was hoping someone on here had some insight. I know there are several other Plomb guys on here.

electron,

I've never heard of or seen a Plomb DR8 ratchet, can you post a couple of crisp photos?

930,

Thanks for the pic; now I know what ratchet we are talking about.

For the record, that is not a ratchet you run into every day.

I don't have one so I can't answer the question. But, it can be disassembled for a quick tooth count.

And AA has been known to get it wrong from time to time.
