Thanks for publicizing an auction I was hoping to win!

Now I can have a hundred competitors and I'll have to up my bid price!

I think there should be a no-eBay post rule for just this reason! Either you find eBay deals on your own, or you lose out to those who take the time to do so!

Ebay posts are okay. Heck, I look for tings others might be interested in and would post them too as a "heads up". If you rather I didn't, I'll keep them to myself!

I think most people who are serious collectors already have the variations and typos added in to their search. On another board I frequent most will lay off if someone indicates they are bidding on a part.

It does look like someone wire wheeled those pebbles, especially the flare nut.. :)

The sentiment of posting them to help others whom you think might be interested is a considerate one, T56. The problem is, that with so many people on eBay, the only way to truly score a deal is often to be lucky enough to find an auction without much interest, for whatever reason.

Aw heck, the OP did nothing wrong. I was just hoping that auction would fly under the radar is all. Which was unlikely anyway.

It's all good.

I posted it because there are some very nice Plomb collectors on here who I thought may be interested. Sorry to ruin your personal auction. Next time I'll put my daughter's pacifier on with the link.

Yeah, the only Plomb stuff I'm looking for is the 3/8" drive tools. Ratchet, short extension and sockets, ALL WF stuff. I don't collect them specifically.

So, you are telling me that you cannot see WHY someone would not want an eBay auction that they are watching posted all over the place?

Sweet pacifier line. The high school kids I teach use that one all the time.

Wow!! I've been looking for those tools.....I think they are at least worth $150. I may go as high as $175. :)

Don't worry Bolster--I'm not bidding. Already have those.
Although, I am in need of a 7/8, 15/16, and 1 1/4 pebble combo wrenches. If anyone ever has spares to sell keep me in mind.

We should get a thread together on elusive Plomb tools and compare. I pass up many old Plombs because I already have them or wouldn't make enough profit to resell them. If I knew what other collectors needed I wouldn't mind picking up a tool if I knew someone was looking for it......heck, I'd even sell it to them at cost + shipping.

Dang, it, Philw! You got my blood pressure up again! LOL!

Hey, I'm not waving anybody away here. Don't not bid on my account. I have most of these already, also.

I need that 1-1/16 though.

Doubt that auction would fly low for long - most anyone halfway seriously looking for Plomb wrenches is likely searching for both Plomb and Plumb - common mis-interpretation of the name.

Need the 7/16, 7/8, and 1-1/4 pebble combos also. Had a chance at a 7/8, thought it was too high, should have bought it in hindsight.

Need some box ends and open ends, need to take inventory.

The automotive forums I frequent both use to ban eBay links, as sellers or their cohorts would pimp their auctions in general discussion or elsewhere on the board, usually with WIW posts, or "Check this out...........". Finally, the forums created a separate section for Ebay, Craigslist, WIW, etc. threads. All eBay links are still banned in their respective Classified sections.
