This is the first Plomb hacksaw I've ever seen. Let's say $29 shipped - no extra charge for the custom handle. If that's too much, I'll take OBO by Monday.

I've never seen one. I wonder what the original looked like?

EDIT: Asked and answered...it has a nonbreakable handle!

Do you think that the pistol grip handle was plastic and the curved piece shown on Jacks is the correct handle minus the plastic?

I wonder. The handle we see in Jack's photo looks like considerable time and effort went into its design and creation. It doesn't look like a fix-the-tool-in-a-hurry kludge, does it?

If it is a replacement handle, somebody put a lot of time into making it, with the relieved sides, complex curved shapes, etc...

if you look close at the picture in the catalog it looks like the ergo handle slides over the tang on Jack's photo you can see where there is a transition from the handle back to the tang near the nut at the end.

Anyways cool piece and good price!

Gad, that was quick - a sell and a photo before I got back in from an errand. Bruce pulled the trigger on it.

The straight part of the handle is a cast alloy and after seeing the photo I believe and may be from the original. The curved part is a cast and chromed handle from something like an old icebox. And yes, the original owner was a heavy equipment mechanic who loved tools and died with a garage FULL at 90+. He did quite a bit of work to make the replacement handle.
