Hey GJ brothers...new guy here. Got a few questions to start out with so don't lube me too bad.
I've been going thru my dad's old tools some of which were handed down to him from his dad. They had a service station in L.A. on Whittier Blvd from around the 40's through the late 60's. The shop was called Ramos Bros. Garage on the corner of Whittier and Mott St (close to Soto) for those of you that know the area.
I went to work with him every week during the summer, answering the phone, cleaning tools and keeping him awake on the way home. Yeah, after a hard days work, watching boxing from the Olympic Auditorium on a 12 inch B/W tv with his buddies and downing 32oz Eastside beers while I slept on a creeper covered with shop rags....my next job was to make sure we made it home. Ahhhh...the good old days.
I got paid in Fosters Freeze ice cream and comic books...both 10 cents each, if I remember right.... anyway
I've have some tools (mostly vintage) Plomb, Proto, Williams, Barcalo, S-K, Snap-on, wrenches, sockets, ratchets and what the hell is that,...to name a few. Some of which I will be selling.
To start I'd like to find out what the larger Plomb pebble wrenches are worth.
I have 3 in great shape...a 1-1/16" # 1234,...1-1/8" # 1236...and 1-1/4" # 1240. The #1236 is Made in U.S.A. and the #1234 and #1240 are MFD in U.S.A.
Are the Proto pebble (full panel) the first (next) generation after they stopped using the Plomb name.
...One more for now. I have a CALIF-TOOL #T-17, (I believe that is also a Plomb) 17/32" wrench, flat and 13 inches long. It is open end on one side and rounded on the other. I haven't been able to find any info on this tool.
Well, thanks for any help (I think).
Ramon
