The mail man brought me a batch of mini plombs today. The 32xx series went into my 1/4” chrome set.

Picked up an orphan 5663 16" long 3/4-inch drive extension at the flea market this morning. LA. 1935.
Nice! Cool little vise also!
Sticking with the 30's, here are a couple recent additions for me. A 1933 1130 and a 1937 1125. I don't buy very many wrenches any more, but I'll always pick up LA/Los Angeles or especially a round O piece.

Nice snags guys. Given Jim and Marsha are nearing the end of their Plomb sell off. I wanted have an example of a W series water pump wrench. Also picked up this 1" deep LA that Dewayne told me about. Sadly the 11/16" was gone to complete the set. I love this W series wrench with the strange handle design and what appears to be an original small recess in the back of the open end. This thing must early as it looks like it may have been hammered out by hand on anvil.

I made a little progress on the Y series board but not enough to post yet.

Ad for a yard sale tomorrow says "large metal boxes". Photo's show one beat to hell Plomb tool box and another that I can't tell what it is but looks similar. Wonder if anything is in them? Might go and see, I guess.
The hunt is all the fun. Buy me some plomb while you are there [emoji3].

A Plomb 9989 Master Chest. It has been spray painted but still in decent shape. Couldn't pass on it for $50. I know it is no tool mobile but I will take it! Still has the tray yet.IMG_20200612_212003347.jpgIMG_20200612_212023797.jpegIMG_20200612_212038763.jpeg

That’s an incredible bargain. Neither the one I got from Jim and Marsha nor my recent eBay one have come with the tray. Great find.

Congrats Roy! It always gives me hope when someone in the middle of the country finds one of these!
Thanks. They are rare in the middle of the country. This one was about 150 miles away.

You could duplicate this set. I’ll bet you have all of the pieces. It would make a cool picture.

Roy, what are your plans for the new box? Are you going to just clean it up or try to redo the paint?
I am going keep it as is. I am not good at restores. I am debating what store in it.
Box was empty. Sale was the widow of a scrapper, cleaning out the leftover bits and pieces he had in the shed. Nothing worth $.25 in the whole place.
Only thing I got was a cast iron top from a tilting table saw, that she said he had found along the road. It might work for a router table I'm planning.
Thanks for checking.

I found an estate sale and a garage sale with some tools finally. First time since the plague started. Here’s the plomb I picked up. 1218, 8163, and 1130 wrenches. 5263, 5261, and wf-18 extensions. A 5349 and 4 1/4” drive sockets.
And two unique pieces. A caulking tool labeled “plomb tool mfg” and a wooden plumbing tool marked 1413 that I can’t find in the catalogs. It’s burnt on the end like it was used with a torch for brazing.

I think those are dollies for working with aluminum if I am not mistaken. Ragz has a set of them. They should be in the 1950 plomb/proto catalog.

Right you are. I didn’t think to check the proto catalog.

The wood paddles are for manipulating the solder during body work.

Found this for $1, I like the 6-point aspect.
Can beat that. I think that is a brake bleeder wrench giving the BB part number. I am not super up on A Plomb stuff though.

Here are three 11/32” war finish sockets, two of which belong to Tin Medic.

Thanks, Roy. Here is my most recent complete 1/4” drive set. The two smallest sockets and breaker are Chrome so I’ll be replacing those.
