The 86A 7/16 cold chisel has a 1/2” cut and is a correct GMTK 41-C-1106 1/2" Cold Chisel 6” x ½”.IMG_3298.jpeg
This Utica sourced 8” 708

The chisel is interesting in the fact that it’s a square body, not the more traditional one like you pictured in the catalog. This is my first square body one I’ve found.

More AI nonsense. “Made of high-quality Plomb” LOL “screwdriver is perfect for opening and closing LOCKS” FFS, pretty sure it didn’t help the seller with the “Been a while..” bit either.

I would have paid that….
I had a sense that I wouldn't have, point being after I asked him how much are the tools laying in a pile on the ground and his reply was "it depends on the tool", which I take to mean anything that I pick up is suddenly a premium priced objet d'art.

I'm not particularly fond of that selling approach.

That seller is a friend of mine. His father was a huge collector, and he is selling his extensive collection. Check his other auctions.

Your assumptions might be keeping you from making a good deal. After all, you are in charge of your cash, not him. Never be afraid to listen. Five dollars was a very fair price for that wrench, for instance. eBay would have been $20 plus $10 shipping.

Very true that my assumptions often do trip me up, but my direct Ebay selling experience vis-a-vis Plomb Pebbles in less than pristine condition, has been that medium sized combination wrenches fall more in line at about $12-14 + S&H.

Last Ebay sale for single Plomb 1230 was $17 INCLUDING Shipping)

At $5.00 there's not enough meat left on the bone. Further, I had already "set the market" for myself on several PROTO 3714 & 3720 single head pebble flare nut wrenches in far superior condition several booths before where the dealer had the understanding to set the price ($1.50 to start with volume discounts) before I got on my hands and knees to grind though his piles. He ended up selling me about 35 Vintage USA made Wrenches & Pliers, useful for my purposes, for $35.00

I think he was happy not to have to load back up those 35 tools (which we all know can get pretty heavy in bulk)

Looks like you buy to resell. That’s a completely different game.

That is definitely unusual. I wonder if Plomb outsourced it? All of the punches and chisels I’ve run across resemble the ones in the catalog.

I was out in the shop and remembered to check the punch and chisel drawer today. Here are a few more square shank Plomb chisels and a punch. All date marked ending in c. Definitely cc and dc. The other first letters are hard to tell for sure. I see Smokes was a cc also. Ed.

Has anyone seen a pebble 1211? 11/32 is the standard across flats size for #8 machine screw nuts, and it looks like Plomb only addressed that size in "Midget" ignition wrenches.

Probably not what you're talking about but they did have a 11/32 3/8"drive socket but you almost never see them. I sold one years ago as part of a lot and haven't stumbled across another one since.

going thru the basement rediscovered this nice 1931 3/4" Dr ratchet and then this pitted 1935 one that I had never got around to messing with, so today....surprised they had the same set up. Super easy fix obviously.
