:). The ratchets are definitely harder to come by because they say Snap On but sockets are decently common but sometimes not in the greatest condition
Im a stickler for condition ha so I guess im not missing out too much. But it is always cool when you find old tools buried among a bunch of random stuff

Great Oregon Steam Up is on this weekend and next. Had a good day at the swap there and had a good chat with bmwrd0 while strolling about. Among several other things I came across a couple of interesting hacksaw frames. The amber handle one drew me in for a closer look..... but It was the blue handle frame that really got my attention. A Plomb Firmback 351! Also my wife came back holding a Proto tool board she found and bought for me. I might have to peel back the Proto decal a little and see what's under it. Ed.

Ed,
That saw is amazing. I have a 360 but didn't know that a firm back even existed. That handle is amazing. Nice find!

I had never heard of the 351 hacksaw frame either. Sent me to the catalogs. I did find this picture of a master set that seems to have the saw in it though. Also there was a hit on worthpoint but that saw handle wasn't blue. Ed.

Nice find on the board. I almost bought it. I would recommend not pulling the sticker back. This is the newer professional era boards so nothing should be underneath 👍

How about a 1248 1-1/2" combination wrench. Has a 1941 date code. I couldn't find it in the catalog. Anyone have a reference?20250727_132410.jpg20250727_132412.jpg

The period from the late 1930's until fully ramped up WWII production was so intense that there is no way the catalogs could keep up with the changes. Orders came in for sizes that were not yet cataloged, and variations that filled customer requirements. The whole world was knocked out of kilter, and change was happening rapidly.

Today, I had to work. Not my most favorite activity on a Saturday but I made the best of it. While sitting at my desk and working through various work activities, I perused FMB intermittently in between sulking and sipping my coffee. I noticed a killer looking sale and sent it to my wife...unfortunately she was occupied and not able to go. A while later for some reason I checked the photos again and much to my excitement I spotted something that has been a bit of a unicorn. Last one I saw was 4 years ago and my friend/fellow forum member ran me up on eBay before he eventually won the item :) I messaged the seller and asked if he would hold it for me if I paid.... $10 later and it was mine. Dual marked Plvmb/Prvtv 3/8 drive socket box with very nice (albeit, crooked) water slide decal. The white thing on the decal is spider web and will come off.

I also finished out my D Series Breaker Bars with the middle length DH. I will have to get an updated photo of them together.

I don't think the pictures are doing it justice as can't make out the markings in second photo.. Is it special for the NAF such as an odd combination of sizes, or was it just their tools were specially marked for them?
Good call. Didn't realize how blurry it was. Here are some close ups with some LA comparisons. It appears the part numbers are not same for same as the catalog as the 3035-N matches the 3030 size configuration. Also it appears that the heads are larger on the N series as they are stacked. It is possible it could be a year variant as well but we would need more examples to confirm.
