I have the Proto flying lady version of that toolbox. It has the exact same measurements even. I got it for $5! I use it got all my Proto LA and dual marked tools!
That's it, Rags! Very cool to see, and perfect choice on what to put in it. The hip roof box is not included in the 1948 Proto by Plomb catalog, but is included in the 1949 Proto by Plomb catalog. I am happy for you and not jealous one bit. :) I would gladly put my PENENS stuff in a Proto box if I ran into one. I've been watching the Fleet box and set on eBay ever since Roy tipped me off to it here. I don't want the tools, and I'm not paying $60 + shipping for the box, but I am going to wait him out and see if he wants to just sell the box. If it sells, I won't be disappointed. If it doesn't, he might want to get something out of the set, even if he is reluctant to separate it frm the tools.

That box is way cool! The paint looks oxidized and you know I restore old paint so you better send that to me for safekeeping [emoji23]

did you see my lasy haul on the garage sale thread? I came across a guy that had a bunch of red Fleet tool boxes, but they were all plastic. I bought a few just to have.

So, here's my haul from last weekend. It wasn't a lot but a few interesting finds from the Plomb empire. Digging around I found a P&C 1/4 flexible extension. I was pretty excited bout it! and then I found the WF18 driver socket, and the Plombish looking nut driver that isnt marked other than P-49 and made in USA. Also found a BOG single socket wrench! Also found a 1/2 6 side swivel socket, a deep plomb socket and 2 Fleet DOE's

I am super jealous. We are heading to the winter months which will mean no fleas, auctions, and estates.

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3055, 3060, 3061, 3062, 3070

That WF-18 used to be a 7" extension.

I wondered when I first saw it, they did a nice job on it!

I was pretty excited to see it was PC.. I was hoping for Plomb of course!

Friday's Plomb/Proto from the local Habitat for Humanity.

The Plomb 9714 screwdriver is pretty rough. It is still 21" long, and the shaft is almost 7/16" square.

The Proto screwdriver is a 9810. The tip has been thinned a little, but is otherwise in good shape.

The Plomb 1218 combo is in very good shape.

I am in the process of building these little shelves for my tool boards. They display my 1/4 drive sets or other small items I want to display but can’t really hang like a regular tool. I have had this idea since I built the boards a few years ago but have never actually built them until now. They are built out of scrap plywood that matches the boards and I put cork on the shelves to make the wear on the paint lessened. Sort of an old school look. I am making one for each of my 3 boards.

Nice.
You should take some overview photos of the boards. I am curious how you are doing your layout.

I like it a lot, Smoke! All my socket drives sets, all drive sizes, are on shelves under my workbenches many of them stacked on top of each other. I sometimes wonder why I bother with all this collecting when nobody sees them under there. Besides that, they do get dust and debris on them (the workbench top is planked).

I haven't reported last couple onesy-twosy finds - a PROTO LA pebble field DBE and a WF-77 swivel with splotches of cad remains.

Picked up a few adjustables. Can someone explain the difference between the 2 styles. I believe the one with a broached 12 pt end is made by JP Danielson. Is it just an era thing and if so which one is earlier. I am fond of the non 12 pt broached.IMG_20181028_122925898.jpgIMG_20181028_122935835.jpg

The non-broached end is a Utica and is older. You are right about the Danielson.

I read: 54A-5P

It could be -SP

The hangers appear to be similar to the ones on my Williams B- tool board. They have a "spiral nail" end with a collar to prevent setting them too deep.

I think these were supplied by a vendor. It would be a great help if we could locate a current source for these.

Here are photos.

Thanks, guys. (My eyes are SHOT!) I was wondering if they were using a code for their boards and such similar to the paper copy, but that "54" appears to be a reference to the drive size/model numbers.

It will forever be known as the 'peppermint sticks' board to me, though. Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Tools that can take a licking!":lol_hitti

Well if you have too many drive socket boxes I can help with that [emoji23] I only have 2 small ones- a plomb pebble 1/4 drive and a wartime 9/32 box. I have no Proto LA or any p&c. I also have no 3/8 or 1/2 drive boxes in any brand. I have never found any in the wild but can’t seem to do anything without tripping over a pressteel roller but I am not complaining! It will take me a bit I think to fill up the shelves but that is ok! I enjoy the thrill of the hunt! I will take some updated photos of my boards but it may be a few weeks as I am trying to wrap up projects as my garage literally is a war zone at the moment.

Did that come out of that hoarder shop on 2nd st yesterday? I drove by and they weren't open and didn't see any signs, so I worked instead.

Went there today, and bought the woodworking bench and a few things, told him I'd buy the other woodworking bench once they were able to dig in to it. What an incredible mass of stuff! It looked like there must have been some gems in there somewhere yesterday before it was picked through.

Yep. You could hardly walk through there with out tripping when I got there. Found a bunch of sockets in old (clean)kitty litter tubs with lids on them. I posted a couple things in the GS thread too. The guy told me he already had 2 auctions and had another sale two weeks ago and the building was still full of stuff. I managed to find a couple of Snap on items after two hours of digging.:lol_hitti

I received a cad plated speeder today to replace the chrome plated placeholder in my wartime 1/2” drive set. The sliding tee and the tools on the left are add ons. Still looking for a Plomb marked pin handle.

I know the cats show them marked but are they? I have seen a few eBay auctions with some 1/4 and 9/32 bars with the pin handles and they do not appear to be marked. They could be replacements however.
