Not Plomb, but I was pleased to get these today. They had 9 of them, but they were over priced, so I only took the 4 that I really wanted and had most of the stuff to fill them. Wall space in my garage will be precious, so didn't want to take up any of it with boards of pullers, antique brake tools, and 3/4" drive sockets that I never use.

Today will be forever known as 2 set Tuesday.
Thanks to a generous trade and an eBay sourced wrench I have completed 2 sets of wrenches in one day.
Huge shout out to CatfishDan for the 1232 1" combination wrench.
First is the 4 piece 816X stubby double box offset.
Second is the smooth 12XX combination wrench set from 1-7/16" to 5/16".

On another note if your OCD is bothered by the 1-7/16" since it is higher than the rest. This is due to the slatting that is used to hand the peg board. I am working on a solution.IMG_20190115_174011446.jpgIMG_20190115_174034274.jpgIMG_20190115_174041623.jpegIMG_20190115_174059288.jpg

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3061, 3070,

Damn Ragz. Nice set. Don't own one and never seen one in person. Do they have the same part numbers as the standard ratchets?

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3061, 3070,

Yes same numbers... gotta look up the date codes tomorrow.

Well now don’t you just **** ! [emoji23] 3 female drive ratchets with all their plugs. You had better buy lottery tickets. Next thing we know you will be finding plomb metric tools . Nice snag sir !

Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Hah thanks smoke! You know me once I have one I have to have all three... but.. there are the 3/4 and 1" female ratchets left to get now...

Ragz, those look great. I've also never seen one in person. The numbers are interesting to me as I had thought these plug type ratchets all had the XX51 numbers instead of being the same XX49 numbers as the reversible ratchets?

9A 0A are the date codes on the 3/8 and the 1/4. Dont see one on the 1/2. The quarter is a 48 instead of a 49 though. 3/8 and 1/2 are the same part numbers

I do have both of them but the head shape is different and my 3/4 is a D part number.

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3061, 3070,

Ahhhh man Ill find them. As smoke said Im on a mission now!!

Scored some new plomb today. The three biggies I bought on the web to fill some holes in my collection... 1232, 1234, and 1236. The dual marked double box end and the p&c are from an estate sale.

That's a nice set. Never seen the DD12 1/2 before. Heard of it in the catalog thought it may have been a mythical creature.

06: thanks. are they pretty rare since you only have a few or did you just start buying some?
Only 1 is wild found. Have 4 1" sockets in which 2 are contract production and the other 2 are the pictured here. They are somewhat rare but for 1" sockets seem to be one of the more common brands.

Also does anyone have a dupe 3027 DOE in smooth finish?

Some nice stuff. I really like those female ratchets and the rope braid/LA sockets.

These were part of an interesting buy out of Cali.

-5449 rat with no name and only a couple digits
-grind off 7/8” spark plug socket. Perhaps a PWA 2254. Threaded hole in the socket wall.
- Whitworth 1/2”, 919-AT8040
-3/4 adapter 5653

One possibility for the threaded hole in the spark plug socket is for use working on flying boats. If you changed spark plugs on a PBY or PBM while it was floating in the water, a dropped tool was a lost tool. The threaded hole could be for attaching a lanyard to keep the tool from being lost.

Here's my 1" set. There are some sockets outside the box as they are too large to fit. The largest one I have is a 5800, 3 1/8".

Nice set! looks like you have three ratchets! Have you put that together over the years or found the box with some of it... ? My 3/4 set I found the box at a garage sale then the rest here and there. Still, lack a couple items. I have zero inch drive stuff... YET.

Seems that these are all combos... If I remember right.
That too is a weird coincidence. I can't imagine they were sold as a normal part of a set....I mean....they did have quality control back then. These were some of the finest tools around. You'd think things like these would have been put in the "employees-take-home" bin.

A little of both. I first bought the box with quite a bit in it, and then I added to it over the years. I've had the 1" stuff so long that I don't remember the details for sure.

Agreed. Strange deal, and most are 9/16 it seems. Pretty sure I have three of the 9/16 non pebbles and maybe a 7/16. Seems I remember the 7/16 looking like yours like it had the surface ground a bit. Ill have to dig around and find mine to compare.

Well they are super rare around here. I watched that 1" box go for 80 something on the bay yest.

Another first for me. After paging through some catalogs compiling a master inventory list of all things Plomb. I was wondering about the midget DBEs. With no previous sold listing for months 2 showed up within a week. Went for the cheaper option. 8122 1/4" X 9/32". Also picked a smooth 1147 for the board.IMG_20190122_175349077_HDR.jpegIMG_20190122_175354267.jpeg
