Proud to have contributed in a small way to the ̶i̶n̶s̶a̶n̶i̶t̶y̶ achievement!
Thank you again along with a lot of other members here on the site. 4 ish years in and still building strong.
Fixed it more!
I wonder if I am going to look back on this when I get board and go what the hell was I thinking and now what am i going to do.
I didn’t know they were elusive. I found mine in the wild last March. I usually pick up brake spoons for my neighbor’s collection but I hung on to this one!
-Don
More of a unicorn for me. I found them in the cats labeled as a Bendix Star Nut Wrench with no pics. I didn't know what that was until I seen yours with the part number and put 2 and 2 together. Now I finally have one for the Plomb wall.

Condensed all the F and K series crowfeet to one rail. Probably one of the most odd looking set ups for socket rails but saves space. The larger 2 for some reason remind me of the PacMan ghosts.IMG_20200213_193935588.jpegIMG_20200213_193943196.jpeg

Thanks to a trade from Catfishdan I have doubled my DD series sockets. I now have examples of smooth, rope, and these weird hatch marks ones. I also now have a 3/8" right angle that now completes the right screwdriver set of the Display Board. Also included are a bell systems contract tool and a 1/2" universal joint LA.
Thanks Dan.IMG_20200215_195322229.jpegIMG_20200215_195327130.jpegIMG_20200215_195331051.jpegIMG_20200215_195421069.jpegIMG_20200215_195427461.jpegIMG_20200215_195435088.jpeg

Catfish Dan has been spending time at the post office. I received a tiny but excellent 5/16” pebble combo from him in the mail yesterday. Thanks, Dan!

Olsen, for a much smaller footprint, you can stack them on a post (Wood dowel on a base), you can also use 2 (or more) posts and get them stacking on the flat part of the body instead of the the lumpy square broached part... (alternating post stack)

I kind of understand what you are saying on the single. Do you have a pic of the 2 or more example?

I'm not sure if y'all have experienced the same thing but I seem to see less pebble stuff than i used to 3-5 years ago. I dunno...
Found this and grabbed it. For what it's worth i bought it from the same guy I got an 1164 which was sold to Roy. I won't be selling this one.

EDIT: again, not sure why pics are upside down, sorry.

I found some plomb of my own today. Brought home an 1122, 1220, 5265, and a dual marked 1218. Also found a wf30 and a 5430 war finish.

Spotted these 2218 battery pliers in an antiques barn today. The rivet is loose, but not pop-out loose. Much in demand, or ho-hum? I’m not looking to collect for myself.

I haven't yet made them up, but this shows the concept using some long bolts to represent the posts:

the posts need enough of a base to support them, especially if wood dowels...

attachment.php

I'll be doing this for the big ones, the smaller I have on a row of magnets on the side of the socket drawer. the "stack" going sideways...

Thanks for the pic. Not at all what I was thinking but that makes sense nest stacking them.

Solid pliers. Is there a date code on them? Given it is LA generation it should have a date code somewhere on it.

I purchased a Plomb quarter inch drive set recently that included a 4751 ratchet without a handle. I wanted to find a replacement handle that was small enough to fit inside the box.

I remembered that I had a slotted Hazet screwdriver with a three sided handle that had the tip broken off. I hope that the Plomb purists will let this slide because I feel the handle/ratchet marriage goes together quite well.

I've included a couple of photos that illustrate why I love the 4751's size with respects to its' competitors. The 4751 is far left next to it's Proto sibling, Snappy flex, etc.

Got my half of a trade in the mail today along with some cool extras. These wrenches put me 2 away from a full set of pebble combos and 2 away from a full set of plain combos. Thanks Roy!

If you plan on actually using it, be very gentle. Most of the ones I’ve seen have broken pawls. They are extremely fragile which is probably why they were only around for such a short time and why ones that work properly usually go for over $50.00.

Glad to hear you are closing in on the home stretch now. Are you going to start on DBEs, DOEs, or Flares next[emoji2]? Flares would be the easiest and DOEs would be the most challenging. I think I know where a 1244 pebble is but the flea isn't for a few months and I don't know if it will still be there. I will check in before I go to see if you still need it.

Ha! Maybe proto LA combos. I’m like halfway there. I’ve got a set of p&c combos and three sets would look funny on the wall. Thanks for keeping an eye out...

Oh ****. Never thought of that! :lol_hitti
No worries. If you're not a Plomb collector, I can see how the plastidip residue on the handle would've thrown you off. You also may not realize that at least two of the pieces (WF-4 extension, WF-7 hinge handle) and I suspect a third (Sliding Tee) are 9/32-inch drive, not 1/4-inch drive. You should double-check the sockets as well.

Here's what my version of that set looks like. Don't get a lot of 1/4" drive stuff, so haven't completed the set.

Lugnutz and ssdave thanks. I have a number of sockets and components from two different estate sales and I would like to put together a complete set if possible. I did not know about the 9/32" drive pieces.

While I usually steer clear of modified Plombs, I just couldn't pass this one up. It's a 5249 that somebody has turned into a stubby ratchet, and the did a really great job of it. In fact, it almost looks factory, but upon closer inspection you can tell it's not forged from one piece.
The MSD10 stud puller is circa 1928-32. These are just a couple of the additions to the collection, now numbering over 1100 pieces and growing.

I kind of like modified tools if not a complete butcher's job and not silly $$... - it shows that someone really needed a toll for a specific purpose enough to make the mod and real history. while "factory new" are nice, they are specimens rather than a tool with use/history...

That ratchet is an amazing find!

A couple more. A 1210 pebble and a parrot jaw pliers. I have been looking for the display board. Had to put up a fight to get it.IMG_20200221_173942685_HDR.jpg
