Roy, There are some Proto la tool boards on eBay right now that I think are somewhat close to you but they are priced at over $300 per board [emoji849][emoji15] I don’t think I will be asking you to grab them at that rate [emoji23] however there is a Proto rotomart on the bay for $650.... I am sure I can explain that to my wife... now if I can just get to Alabama [emoji23]

No new plomb this weekend, but I did improve the plomb corner of my little shed. Added some shelves for a few pieces that look good on display. The rest goes in the boxes underneath.

Missed this one. I didn't see them.

Very cool! Love the display. Soon it will be more than the corner. Never leave that many Plombs that close to one another. The will reproduce and take over.

I'm too cheap. This came up for sale locally; I tally it up at $650, they want considerably more than that. What are your thoughts?

That's the same one listed on eBay, guy wants $1000, but the listing on eBay is just the box, none of the other tools. No way, he's asking too much. I think he's asking that much cuz somebody else listed the master tool chest for 1500 recently, so he thinks they are worth that.

Alot of broken tools. I don't see it. I would buy at $300 no more.

Agreed. Most, not all, of the tools in that picture are common items that I see at the swaps for less than $10 a pop.

I like the chest, but I wonder if they drilled it to get it mounted to that cart.

Thanks for sharing it. I agree the box is about 80% of the value but I am not a huge on Plomb boxes. Just pick them up when they are reasonable.

If that was local I would maybe top out at $150 but then again I am pretty cheap [emoji23] you are right, the box is 80% of the value! That seller is delusional. Time to put the crack pipe down. Listed price on eBay doesn’t equal sold price [emoji23]

I actually went and looked at that box Dave. Its pretty rough and as stated before the tools in it are in bad shape. The guy said he would take 500 lol. He then told me he picked it up for 25 but he was firm on 500. He does have a lot of other vintage tools for sale also. Everything is overpriced.

I found two Plomb 9784 #2 Phillips screwdrivers last weekend. They are identical except for the date codes and the shaft itself. One is longer than the other (even taking into account wear on one tip) and one shaft seems larger in diameter. The date codes are A over D on the longer one, and C over C on the shorter one. :dunno:

Another rare pair.
A DMH 1930 1/2 short breaker bar.
A 5/8" deep impact socket.

Also included the rest of my D series drive tools. Narrowing in on a set!

Also included 3 versions of the short 1/2" breaker bars.IMG_20200814_160247373.jpegIMG_20200814_160253705.jpgIMG_20200814_160257175.jpgIMG_20200814_160302319.jpegIMG_20200814_160430569.jpgIMG_20200814_160523678.jpg

Nice additions Roy!
I added a magnet above the plomb shelves to display some of my plomb family midgets.
Dan, I like your magnet idea. Also, I spy another of those WF-8's like Don recently posted. I still need to go check mine to see if any have those markings.

Hemmings daily email roped me into watching a movie about Ab Jenkins and the genesis of Bonneville racing.

Here's a photo of Ab Jenkins and Augie Duesenberg on the flats in 1936.

The show said Ab enlisted sponsors like Pennzoil and Firestone. This photo surely looks like a sponsor shot for Plomb.

Thanks guys. Harbor freight magnets have many a uses...

I picked up a few plomb pieces at my local flea market. Nothing special, but this was the first flea since the plague started. It felt great to get out there again. No more boring Sunday mornings for me!

Nice! I think just ‘39 and ‘40. It’s good to see another one. Congratulations. It’s probably good that I didn’t see it so I didn’t get involved in the bidding. Are all the tools date coded?

Don't have it yet. Looks like ratchet is missing. Looks like 39 date codes from pics.
