Box with most of the Plomb on the right I picked up from a cool dude in L.A... stuff was his grandfather's, as was the USN NAF toolbox not pictured. Obviously there is a later breaker (and extension) visible that were added at some point to the 30's Thorsen TT 3/4" set at top which was from the Sacramento area.
That is just an insane pull. Looks like quite a bit of early stuff in there!

I wouldn’t mind seeing the USN NAF toolbox not pictured when you get a chance.:dunno:

Fantastic pull! So much good stuff in there that everything looks common, which couldn't be further from the case:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Fantastic find, Mr. X! Not only are the tools rare and early, but the condition is incredible!

One rarely finds a tool in such good condition, much less boxes full.

Sweet! Great pick and some really early pieces. Congrats!

Scored these 2 sockets this weekend...non descript proto 6pt and this 31/32 socket. Haven't cleaned them up yet but was stoked to find an uncommon size

Traded with UNAIU to help him on his p&c counter top display. He traded me a proto la screw driver I needed and also got a flare wrench I needed! I at least got the lower left hand portion of the wood driver section on my screw driver board done! I still have a long way to go but at least got one section done!

looks like there may be issues with the detent ball, and it's been reassembled bass-ackwards (which is easily correctable):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284262598676

listed this morning at 05:36 PDT

So of course I made an offer on the backwards Plomb 1/4” ratchet with the inoperative retaining ball, pointing out the defects to the seller and ended up getting it fairly cheap. I knew that I had a good replacement for the drive wheel. When it arrived, sure enough it was just as we thought. I took it apart this afternoon and whoever worked on it last had reversed the dogs, installed one spring upside down as well as putting it together backasswards with the sunk ball. After losing one of the screws on my messy workbench for an hour or so :willy_nil, it’s finally all better.

Thanks to AK4570, my hoard of the mysterious SR tools is now much larger. Here is the care package I received today. The second picture is of my existing examples.

I don't think i've ever seen a PLVMB pebble screwdriver. I guess i'll have to open that big box with the smelly old plastic handled ones and dig thru them to see (might need a gas mask for this job).

i just keep learning stuff about these great old tools and thanks all for the information!!

I'm not sure i'm going to keep the bigger Plvmp toolbox cause at the minute I don't have any space for it, but the smaller one will find a spot somewhere once I clean it up a bit and fill it up with some plvmb goodness.

I broke my rules today and bought these, just because. I don’t study Plomb, so I didn’t know about these scooped box ends. Cool.

I picked up a few items at a hot rod swap meet ! I was just excited to get out and dig for some rusty gold! :rocker:. I haven't cleaned up any thing yet.
-Big 2' long wood handle driver....no name on it, it was probably stamped on the handle but I cant find any traces of markings. Overall pretty good shape for it's age and it hasn't been used as a pry bar so I bought it...$10
-Plomb body file-$10
-proto mfd grind off 9/16
-doe 3031 and 3040
-proto la dbe
-firestone 3/8 hinge handle

Also, vendor I bought the screwdriver from told me he has some p&c and proto tool boards in storage... I got his number and he said he will be sending me some pictures!

^ that body file is classy!

Thanks! It's in pretty good shape and I was excited to find it. The handle still shows some light signs of green paint but the wood is in good shape! I haven't even cleaned it up yet. Now I need to find some lead wood spoons but that is gonna be tough I think

Do you have a file for it? I may have a spare. I think they might have been sourced from Heller.

I’ve been adding to my 4700 R 1/4” drive master set and am down to only missing three pieces. I’m looking for the 4742 (9/16” Spanner), the 4746 (Screwdriver) and the 4747 (Screwdriver) if anyone should happen to have any spares. Here is an updated photo.
-Don

I have made some similar progress, but not really working off the catalog, just chucking my odd 1/4 drive stuff in there.
