I made some minor changes to mine yesterday too but am still missing the 4742 and 4746. Those must be some really rare ones.

(Sarcasm alert)
I also discovered that I've been following the same fellow around all over the US and buying his old tools!
The 13/16 came from Central South Carolina, the 9/16 from Western Montana.

If I took it apart to soak all the steel pieces, clean up the wooden handle and knob, and reassemble, it would be a spotlight under glass piece.Nice! Yours looks in pretty good shape as well.
Unused.and with the rasp blade even!![]()

It's 22" OAL from the end of the handle to the hinge (which is how it's listed in cats), and 23" OAL with the drive stud at 0*.Lugz, is the 5668 a full 24"? My inventory says my 5668 is 20" (too lazy to try to check as I think thst one is in the #70 box....)
OK, my mistake - Mine is a later Proto, and WAS a bit shorter. Apologies for making you do more work.
It happened to be in the (even heavier) drawer with the rest of the 3/4 adn 1" drive stuff, (thankfully on rollers - a card file conversion...) I go to put two other pieces away while I was down there...
And todays picks:
A Transition Plvmb/Porto pebble long combo in 5/16, A Plvmb 1/4" driver, and a Proto LA semi Stubby, woof handle.

No problem. I did "round up" at 2 feet..., and I live for double checking specs.OK, my mistake - Mine is a later Proto, and WAS a bit shorter. Apologies for making you do more work.
On the Plomb Collectors Facebook group, someone posted a beautiful, and I mean beautiful, square corner 9999 in incredible condition. And along wth the Plomb blacksmith decal, there is a Duplex, Sherman NY decal. I am not going to post up the pics as they are not mine, but here is a link for anyone interested.

I know that some people refuse to go on FB, and some people are lovers of the place, and many here are members, but this needs to be seen.
Nice! Added a 4763 extension to mine.
Not to be dismissive of the 9999 box itself, but this is the most significant part of the find. It could be a major, major breakthrough, actually. We know that Duplex was making its patented externally cantilevered boxes for others, including, most famously, Snap-on, also Old Forge and others, for decades. Conversely, we know that Pendleton Tool Industries, Inc. purchased Duplex, quite literally in a fire sale, in 1958. What we don't know, as far as I am aware, is if Duplex was making other style boxes, and whether they were making them for Plomb Tool Company in the Plomb era. As far as I know, the maker of all those 40s era boxes has never been ascertained. Would you please post the decal photo? I am not on FB, and while I can see some of the photos by clicking on your link, I can't access the photos behind the "+9" icon. I'm guessing that's where the Duplex decal photo is....there is a Duplex, Sherman NY decal...
An interesting feature, that one has no drawer slides. Mine is a bit later and has slides.
What box ends are missing? Here’s the progress on the midget set. Still need a few sockets and some midget box ends plus a flex spinner. And a big box to put it in.
